Which Version to Buy

Im buying this just to play dayz mod. Which requires Arma2, operation arrowhead, then private military company(for high res textures).

But from what i see, Arma2 is free.

So do I only need to buy operation arrowhead and private company?(since arma2 is free?) Then i find different bundles. Any with both in a bundle?

Arma2 is not free per se - there is an "Arma2 free", but this comes with low res textures, most notably of Chernarus (the map DayZ is played on).

AFAIK there is no package with just OA+PMC or Arma2+OA+PMC. You can get Combined Operations (CO) which is Arma2+OA, or Reinforcements (RFT) which is PMC+BAF.

The minimum purchase required to play DayZ is Operation Arrowhead alone (resulting in mostly low res graphics due to Arma2 Free and PMC lite). If you want full hi res graphics, you'll need Combined Operations and PMC.

Novaline not sure where you are based but I'm guessing US so here's damage:

CO = A2+OA = €25 ($32) via Sprocket*

Reinforcements = $15 via Amzazon US

Arma X Anniversary = CO+Reinforcements+A1+Queens Gambit (A1 expansion)+Operation Flashpoint= €50 ($64) via Sprocket*

* Sprocket is Bohemia Interactive's (developer of Arma series) own digital distribution platform which is easier to use than Steam and also ensure that more money goes to the developer as it cuts out the middle man

Ok, im glad I asked now.

They sure did make it very confusing for new customers lol.

So if i bought arrowhead, combined operations, and PMC. I would be able to play dayz in highest resolution?

I just dont wanna buy something, that doesnt help me play dayz.

Then if I only bought those expansions, would i still have some lower res due to arma2free?

Combined Operations already contains Arrowhead, as posted above, so then you would have Arrowhead twice.

What you want for the best graphics is just Combined Operations and PMC.

If you play with Arma2 Free then the map itself (Chernarus) will be low res, as will some of the people, vehicles and equipment, I believe. Arma2 Free is not an option if you want hi res graphics in DayZ.
