PreedSwe 18 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Does BI(or someone else?) provide somewhere to download PBO's from? I am upgrading our server to CO but my home connection only has 1mbit upload, so it would take a couple of days to upload all the A2 .pbo's.. It's a linux dedicated server on a 1gbit uplink.. Tankbuster 1747 Posted April 13, 2012 This is asked for on a regular basis, I'm afraid. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?132446-Help-fordedicated-server-files-Appeal-to-BIS!-help-the-community http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?132339-Dedicated-server-file-download There's no easy answer. If you have bought your games through Sprocket, you might be in luck. If you can log into your machine on a remote desktop, you can go to the Sprocket website and redownload your game files to your server. The same might be possible with steam, I don't know, I don't use it.
jedra 11 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) It's possible to do this with both Sprocket AND Steam as I have done both. If you can't get a browser session going remotely then unfortunately you're in for a long upload slog. PreedSwe 18 Posted April 13, 2012 Tell me where do I browse for steam?
jedra 11 Posted April 13, 2012 Well, OK - you're going to have to install the Steam client with Steam.
MissileMoose 10 Posted April 14, 2012 The easiest way to do it would be to install a new virtual machine with OpenVZ for remote desktop and WINE. Then download the files to that virtual machine and install.
columdrum 11 Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) i may be wrong, but you can also use arma2 free to upgrade your server to CO from OA. And you can download it for example with six updater. But as i said i haven't never tried to do that on a linux DS, so its just another idea :P, i am sure that there should be another post arround about it :S. PreedSwe 18 Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) The Arma 2 free was a nice idea, unfortunately they only distribute it as an executable setup, which I can't unpack under linux(as far as I know) But I guess I can download it on my workstation and see if I cant unpack/install it here and then upload it, as it is less than 1gb..
