Story: In September 2018 the government decided to move the people into underground vaults to protect them. Because the virus and its creations roaming free in the USA and Canada. Just some military troops and some heads of the government remains on the surface to eliminate this threat. While 80% of europe and asia has been destroyed the US-Government is still fighting. They could save 60% of their civilians in 2024, thanks to the underground vaults. On 24th June 2024 the contact to the surface is gone. Some vaults opened their gates to let some so called "Runners" on the surface to check the situation. On 29th June 2024 the vault in New York opened their gate to let 3 runners on the surface. 2 days later their contact was broken. On the 2nd July 2024 they New York vault sends you to the surface to contact the runners in the city. If you cannot contact them or they are dead, try to find any life sign and return within 24 hours to the vault. This is where your story begins...
