Texture pop in/blurry texture question.

Recommended Posts

For some reason textures on trees, buildings and other props look very blurry until I am very close to them. This is mainly an issue in Cherrussia (spelling) and I do not notice it in Takistan very much. I am wondering how I can fix this?

Very blurry textures:

Though when very close it looks high res:

In game settings:

I have 2GB of video RAM and 8GB of system RAM, so that should not be an issue. My specs:

GTX 560ti 2GB

AMD 965

8GB DDR2

WD FALS 1TB HDD

Win 7 64bit

ASUS M3N78 Pro

Antec Earthwatts 650

Samsung 223F

I suggest setting video memory to default - there are some issues with the other settings as it doesn't utilize all the available VRAM and is one of the main reasons why you get blurry/low res textures even though you are close to them. Default takes advantage of all your video memory.

I switched video memory to default, and the issue went away. :)

It also uses more video RAM, roughly 1,180 MB. This is not an issue, in fact it is good, because I spent extra to get a 2GB card.

I had that issue too with 8gb ram, but the memory settings only show low and normal, and some various video anomalies. During ARMA2 launch I think there were issues with 8gb ram...

So for now I just remove the extra 4gb of ram. Maybe I should use Maxmem instead?
