vonduck 10 Posted December 23, 2011 Hi guys, I now have my Saitek combat pedals and am getting used to flying with them... a real change from the twist grip joystick i can say! I need to ask ... i am flying on expert mode and while i experience yawing to the right due to torque which i counter with the pedals... is it normal to have the chopper BANK to the right all the time? I have calibrated my CH Flight stick and it seems ok... do i need to manually trim this? Thanks guys! Doug
jedra 11 Posted December 23, 2011 That's normal behaviour. When you increase/decrease collective, the chopper will bank to the right/left. You have to counter this with left/right pedal.
icebreakr 3159 Posted December 23, 2011 Seems legit.
EagleEye-GER- 0 Posted December 23, 2011 I think he mean rolling to the right in the medium helicopter? I think it`s not a correct behavior, because I can`t imagine that the pilots (flying a helicopter with the tail rotor above the vertical CofG) have to fight with that IRL. BUT see this post by Armored Sheep. I`m open to learn that it IS the correct behavior if some pilot come`s here and tell about.;)
zentaos 10 Posted December 23, 2011 either way, the rolling and yawing tendency would decrease with speed as the horizontal and vertical stabilizers on the tail take aerodynamic effect.
