PreedSwe 18 Posted December 23, 2011 Since the update patch is an exe file, I can't apply it on our linux server. What's the easiest way to go about upgrading our linux server? I only have 1mbit uplink here, so uploading all the PBOs from my 1.60 game to the server will take days....
eddieck 10 Posted December 23, 2011 I'm in the same boat as you, Preed (Linux server + 896k upload). Two options: 1. Update your local installation and diff the PBOs. If there's only a few changed, upload them. 2. Start up an Amazon EC2 instance with Windows, download OA and update it to 1.60, then re-upload. ---------- Post added at 18:34 ---------- Previous post was at 17:58 ---------- Looks like there are quite a few changed files - probably a few GBs worth. For those of us on low-upload connections, looks like the second option is the best.
.kju 3245 Posted December 23, 2011 a) ask a friend for a server to server transfer b) use rsync/zsync to reduce the upload c) upload and wait
