hcpookie 3770 Posted December 16, 2011 I have a question about a UGV config. I would like to make several different kinds of UGVs if I can get the darned config to work. I am trying to copy the UAV config settings of relevance into a new vehicle config. The problem seems to be that the only way to get a UAV to work is to make it an Air vehicle. If I define it as a ground vehicle, the instant I enter the UAV terminal, the message "UAV Destroyed!" appears. I then switch the unit to the BIS MQ9 UAV, it works fine... so I know I have everything synchronized correctly. The issue is if you make it an AIR vehicle, it can fly. Strange seeing a wheeled vehicle flying overhead in the pattern :) I'm considering trying to set the flight characteristics to make the vehicle (a) go VERY slow to avoid liftoff, and (b) try to configure a startup script to force the vehicle to "flyinheight" 0 or something like that. Has anyone else tried working on a UGV config? Am I wasting my time?
slatts 1978 Posted December 16, 2011 (edited) are you inheriting the MQ-9? like class My_UGV: MQ9PredatorB or using lines from the mq-9 config? EDIT: i started a topic regarding EOD bots..heres an answer i got, might help http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/remoteControl Edited December 16, 2011 by Slatts
hcpookie 3770 Posted December 20, 2011 Thanks Slatts, I'll have to do some more research. To answer your question yes I was inheriting from the MQ9 just like that. Like I said, it worked as a UAV (flying ground vehicle LOL). This remoteControl setting looks promising!
