DR-EVIL 0 Posted June 7, 2002 whever i move near a town or can see the town i get a MASSIVE performance slow down to about 1 frame a second then when the town is out of my field of view it fixes. whats going on?
theavonlady 2 Posted June 7, 2002 Is this in a player made mission, with customized towns, or using a player made town addon? How about posting your detailed system specs? Also, search The FAQ for "performance" and for "lag".
DR-EVIL 0 Posted June 8, 2002 its just stock maps no added buildings only thing i add is myself, before 1.46 this never happened because my radeon 32mb handled everything perfectly and didnt have problems. i searched your faq and didnt find anything that helped. P3 990 mhz 256mb ram 32mb ati radeon 56 times cdrom drive 30 gig hd 10 percent full up to date drivers on everything and flashpoint set to run at optimal settings before 1.46 screwed it up
canukausiuka 1 Posted June 9, 2002 I have a similar problem on my computer. PIII @ 1GHz 256 mb ram 32 mb ati radeon pci (omega drivers) I used to be able to run in 1024x768x32 w/o trouble, but now i have trouble even in 800x600x32, especially in some towns, and when there are a lot of corpses around (just corpses... actual soldiers doesn't slow it, it drops to a crawl after they're dead ) I'm wondering if it's any of my addons though... so pretty soon i'm going to clear it out and only leave the addons i use a lot. ALDEGA 0 Posted June 9, 2002 Does this happen at night (when there's light from the lamppost)? If so, reduce the amount of lights in the preferences utitlity.
canukausiuka 1 Posted June 11, 2002 No, it's not just night, or light. It happens in the middle of day. I got down to like 3 or 4 fps just because of a dead blackhawk, 2 dead pilots, and 8 dead soldiers in one spot. Like I said, usually, it's fine, but these few times can ruin a mission, especially if you have to do a lot of fighting in the same area... it just keeps getting worse, until it takes 2 or 3 seconds to line up a single short-range shot.
