hon0 10 Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Here is a little mission(Right clic save as) I made on South Asia. The aim was to learn using the new TOH command for SlingLoad and by the way have a great little training. simzismSx2E?hd=1 Now with the Blake's Sling Loading I guess we could do it better and better ! Edit : Don't forget to instal this mod to be able to see your load Oh and try to add " this animate ["BenchL_Up", 1] " in your init line it's cool for this kind of mission with a Bench equiped chopper. Edited December 7, 2011 by hon0
jedra 11 Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Nice, thanks hon0. Well, after two hours of trying I had to give up - I just could not pick up that first crate! The ground effect just kills me. You are so smooth in that video, I just cannot get anywhere near as much control as that! Edited December 7, 2011 by Jedra
deadeyejones 1 Posted December 30, 2011 I am in the same boat. I can't seem to get the same smooth level of control. I am constantly fighting the controller, with a lot of forward left stick, then it goes into rocking left and right. I downloaded the nightstalker* mod for expert flying. But I still getting the over controlling instability. I can do this mission in Trainee mode (no hover mode). I can do this in expert mode, but I need hover mode to pick up and set down the crates. But I still do not get the control you have. I have watched this video several times and your model doesn't seem to have any of issues I am having, in fact it seems to fly like a real helicopter. Getting frustrated, I have 200+ hours flying real choppers from Robinsons to Jet Ranger. None of them are a difficult as this. Any advice before I decide to un-install this game and throw it in the back of the wardrobe would be helpful. Many Thanks. hon0 10 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) Hello ! Well I guess you don't need any advice on how to pilot a helicopter. So your problem must come from the joystick/setting.. Here is an other topic where we discuss about joysticks settings. Please try to reset to all your curve ; On the software/driver AND on the game -TM Hotas X (2011) -TM Ferrari Steering Wheel/Pedals. (2000) I'm flying with the Community Update n°3 with these setting for controller.Code: </FCSComponent> <FCSComponent type="FCSRotationDamper"> <YawController P="0.2" D="0"/> <PitchController P="0.2" D="0"/> <RollController P="0.2" D="0.00"/> </FCSComponent> If I understood well it "kill" the autotrim,.. that I don't use but give a faster response to the input In game, all my curve a set to default except throttle's one witch have 0% deadzone. Let me know how it goes now. zentaos 10 Posted January 8, 2012 i can't get this mission to work...anyone want to help an editing newb out?
hon0 10 Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) What is your problem? You have to put the .sqm file here : C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Take On Helicopters\missions\SlingLoadTraining\Here To play the mission you have to open it in the editor. Choose editor, Map South Asia, Look for "open file or project.." option and the name will be the one of the folder where you put the .sqm file. "SlingLoadTraining" for exemple. Then just preview and enjoy ! Edited January 8, 2012 by hon0

hon0 10 Posted January 8, 2012 I often press the journal key, which is by default "J". Tell me if you have any other problem I'll answer in the hour.
zentaos 10 Posted January 9, 2012 I tried "C:\users\xxx\documents\takeonhelicopters\missions\slingloadtraining\here" and "C:\users\xxx\documents\takeonhelicoptersotherprofiles\xxx\missions\slingloadtraining\here" still no go. hon0 10 Posted January 9, 2012 You have to load (2nd icon) the mission in the editor. Then preview. (play icon)
beepee 10 Posted January 9, 2012 I'm not sure but i think that the name of the folder should end with .South_Asia_H So sth like SlingLoadMission.South_Asia_H will do.

zentaos 10 Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks BeePee that was it. I should have just looked at one of my saved missions, doh! for the record, C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Takeonhelicoptersotherprofiles\missions\SlingLoadTraining.South_Asia_H\HERE or if you haven't created a separate user profile, C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Takeonhelicopters\missions\SlingLoadTraining.South_Asia_H\HERE
