I found a way to clear the AMD HD Series AA Red line on the screen

Recommended Posts

It's not perfect but it works!

Turn on the CCC, set the anti-alias&Anisotropic you like.

open the game and go to the video opions.

Just don't let your interface resolution and 3D resolution match at 100%

for example :

1.

Interface Res:1920x1080

then

3D Red:2192x1232 or 1680x945 etc

vice versa

sorry for my english

There will be 2 redlines on the top of screen and the left of screen,

it doesn't really bother the game but make players feel sux.

It's hard to explain, but you can search on the forum.

it cannot be taken by fraps or any d3d screenshoot software.

according to forum, this happend since ATi Catalyst 10.5 and so on

My bad, Fraps can capture the red line . arma2oa2011-11-1316-53-23-14.jpg

It's not obvious due to jpeg but trust me, it's big and annoy.

I think the red lines only appear if you have 'adaptive AA' enabled in CCC.

Again: setting everything in CCC to default suits most games best ;)

yeah, i know. but if user want to use some alternative AA mode

like adaptive you mentioned about,or really cool morphological antialias, that will be sad. :)

'Red Lines' top and left screen;

Yes I had it whilst playing around with setting’s (I’m always messing around even tho my A2 runs great:j:), it is something to do with AMD’s AA settings in the CCC..

My settings now (no red lines) CCC: (may help someone)

Smoothvision HD: Anti-Aliasing = ‘Use application settings’

Smoothvision HD: Anisotropic Filtering = ‘Use application settings’

Tesselation = ‘Use application settings’

Catalyst A.I. = ‘Quality’ setting (middle slider) with Surface Format Optimization ‘Enabled’ (tick box)

Mipmap Detail Level = ‘Quality’ setting (second from right on slider)

Wait for vertical refresh = ‘Performance, Always Off’ (slider to left)

Anti-Aliasing Mode = ‘Adaptive Multi-sample AA (middle slider)

OpenGL Settings = Triple buffering ‘Enabled’ (tick box)

.

We've talked of these "red lines" before.. somewhere here.

Even Nvidia can have them. Nvidia's Scaling options is it's cure.

Well, above marked setting explains somewhat your exorbitant system performance :p

One has to get one’s fps from somewhere, if that’s what you mean, because to me its all toooo confusing, just playing with settings until my computer shouts stop… which luckily for me it hasn’t yet, speak too soon perhaps..

Oh I don’t just write down my fps its just on the ‘dvd’ mod readout, it’s exactly the same on fraps...

Why have you got triple buffer enabled when vSync is off?
