ARMA II Combined Ops Doesn't Work

Recommended Posts

Hi... Originally I played ARMA II on STEAM and loved the stuffing out of it. I took a break for awhile and now that I recently have wanted to get back into it I have found all the servers are now using combined ops. So I bought OA on STEAM and since then I've had nothing but trouble...

ARMA II will boot up and OA will boot up individually but I can't get Combined Ops to boot up, I just get a quick black .bat screen and then nothing. I noticed that there was a thread here explaining all about the _runA2CO.bat file and how to get CO to run.

None of the solutions in this thread worked for me and believe me I've tried them all (been at this for over five hours) including diving into the registry and checking the paths (which were right). All I want to do is play some combined ops. Surely there is an easy way to get the two games to recognize each other and be able to play.

I am running Windows 7 x64. Can anyone here help me?

I got Arma2 and OA on steam and all I do is start OA and a question comes up and ask me if I want to play OA or Combine Operation.

Never used at .bat file or anything else, all I did was, start Arma2 first one time and then start OA one time and thats it.

make sure if there is problem to exit STEAM and start it again via "run as administrator" option

then run ARMA 2 and exit

then use the Launch A2: CO mode (which is A2: OA loading A2 data)

I had the same issue. Tried all sorts of options to fix the problem.

This Launcher solved my problem, and allowed me to create a desktop shortcut that works every time. I hope it helps.

I have done this repeatedly (even trying a fresh install)... It does not work.

answer in different thread, Your problem is missing or not working OS component ...

http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=2055807&postcount=760

hence why only manually defined path in edited batch will work for You

As indicated in the other thread I am NOT missing an OS component.

However the problem is now resolved. If anyone sees this and has a similar problem message me and I'll explain the process I used to solve it.
