Weapon Modelling (newbie needing input)

I have recently found that the laserbeam is a p3d model.

Hm, I wonder if it would be possible with this info to make a visible laser...

I'm pretty sure. I think you could make a laser beam model with an emissive rvmat on it. I think it would just be a red beam tho and not really look like an actual laser at all. You could make it partially transparent but it wouldn't really interact with the atmosphere or other objects like lasers do. Maybe someone who knows more about animated textures and such would be able to think of something more complicated.
