twicedead 10 Posted November 1, 2011 Anyone use this with Arma 2 or OA yet? I see some threads at Armaholic troubleshooting actual operation within Windows 7. However, the reviews for this item are lackluster and do not say if it can be programmed individual from the keyboard (like a joystick) or just take binds from the keyboard. I am wanting to use the gamepad for controls and use the keyboard for the rest, using the WASD section especially. Hopefully, someone knows what i'm going for here. Thanks for any replies! Owner here. Don't completely understood what you want to do but with its software you can reassign any key you want of the G13 and save it as a game profile. [frl]myke 14 Posted November 1, 2011 As a sidenote (since not exactly about the topic but still some relevance and maybe interesting to know), i have my old Saitek PC Dash2 connected and it works like a separate gaming device. Means, the buttons are recognized individually by Windows, no need to define any keybindings at all. Sadly it has a downside: latest Drivers are for Win XP, Vista and Win7 drivers are inexistent. However, Windows recognizes it as input device although not all Buttons are usable: both shoulderbuttons aswell as 3 Buttons (bottom row, last 3) aren't working. But still, these are 32 additional buttons and a coolie hat to be used. Also it might be found on ebay for 1$/1€. I'm using mine for TS3 Whispelists aswell as for TrackIR switches. dale0404 5 Posted November 1, 2011 OT. Myke, can you expand on the "TrackIR switches" please? What do you mean?
[frl]myke 14 Posted November 1, 2011 OT.Myke, can you expand on the "TrackIR switches" please? What do you mean? Well, in TrackIR you can define keystrokes for centering, precision and tracking on/off. I think by default those are bound to F7, F9 and F11. Now in the TrackIR Software, just bind one of the PC Dash2 keys (at me it is Joystick22 key for centering as example) and you're good to go. Much better than any CTRL+SHIFT+ANYKEY combo you could come up with. ;)
Joe98 92 Posted November 1, 2011 As i undestand it, the keys can be programmed. For example I have a logitech G110 keyboard. It has 12 extra keys numbered G1 - G12. And it has 3 menus meaning in effect I have 36 extra keys. Each key can be programmed. G1 is: Select Team Red G2 is : Select Team Blue G3 is: Select Team Green G12 is: Select all, go prone, form diamond, go stealth G11 is: Select all, kneel, form line, fire at will. . . . twicedead 10 Posted November 1, 2011 This is exactly what I mean, I don't want to just copy controls from the keyboard to the keypad. I want to remove them from the keyboard and bind them seperately like a joystick. Does anyone know if the G13 has this function? Thankyou all for your generous information! HR4 Elite 10 Posted November 1, 2011 I use the Razer Nostromo, I have it configured for; general config, sniper config, driving config, etc, there are multiple ways to configure these type of controllers, i.e. simple key configs to detailed timed macros, mine seems to work fine with Win7 as would the G13 I should imagine. I use the Nostromo and mouse for more or less everything, keyboard for just this and that.. To your question, you can remove more or less all the keyboard controls via the in-game ‘game control menu’ and re bind them to your controller, the in-game menu recognises my Razer so should recognise a G13, just go into the game controls then look under controllers, you can config any way you like.. Or use the software with the G13, I use my Razer software, find it far better to config in that to be honest.. .
