Anyone interested in doing CO-OP?

Recommended Posts

..with a noob? I'm going through all the OA tutorials trying to give this game the proper learning time but even in the tutorials I'm running into what turned me off the last time... the AI. I'd like to love this game but it's community is so intense it's hard to get your foot in the door without filling out some kind of application =/

Just curious if I can find somebody else in my shoes, or someone interested in working through some of the OA/Arma2 core missions in co-op that might be more experienced.

That's the biggest + IMO that DR had over ARMA2 in the past - it was a lot easier to setup a co-op match =/

BTW I'm in USEast - don't know how important that is for connection purposes (but my home connection isn't the fastest that's for sure ^o^)

Do you want to COOP the OA campaign or the A2 one or what do you mean with core missions?

When I used "core" I just meant the ArmA2 (non-OA) missions; I didn't know if just saying ArmA2 would be clear. I'll be interested in doing any missions from ArmA2 or OA. I figure it'll be best to play the campaign missions before diving into mods in full online play, yea?

Plus if there are ways to handle the AI better I'd like to learn those tricks as I want to be able to play this with my brother this winter when he's home.

The problem with the OA campaign is that you don't play as a group, but each player

controls one asset like infantry, tanks, air, specops.

In the A2 campaign you play as one group - mostly as infantry. So I'd recommend that one for the start.

The BI A2/OA missions are normally playing as a group as well. They are not bad, but

also not particular good. So to try good community made (infantry) coop missions is an

alternative.

so the "missions" are different from the "campaign?" Good to know! ha, well I guess I'll check out the campaign's and see what they're like.

What are the more popular infantry co-op community missions? I guess that depends on who I can find to play with though, so recommendations on finding the right group of guys? It seems like there are lots out there but...the wide berth of the game seems to have made the community much the same; everyone carving out their own little ArmA slice.

It doesn't seem like going at it with 1 or 2 other people happens too often.

You find the missions in the SP->scenarios section or if you MP->host a server, you can

select the MP COOP missions.

Hi bobsbarricades,

My buddy and I are looking for a regular arma player/s, we have our own private Game server, we have a variety of missions

on the server from edited versions of insurgency, evolution, domination, Battlefield2, and many others, as well as some I had built.

I have been in the series since the demo of OFP in 2001, my buddy has been in it since Arma1 (2006).

If your interested in Coop i can show you how to get around be it controls, AI, commanding whatever,

if your into learning to edit your own missions I can show you that too, I've have done that several time for folks in the community.

We play with Arma2CO (Arma2 + OA).

Mods we play with is COWarMod (mod I built, 1 of 3 in the series) as well as an island mod,

fighter/chopper mod, and a soundMod i put together.

Were USA in central time zone.

Oh if you have issues with your computer, my buddy is a freelance computer tech

has had his own business for over 10yrs.

Anyways send me a pm if your interested.
