Hasha 2 Posted June 2, 2002 Best Buy from the US of A is opening there first store in Canada, Ontario, Missisauga in August, perfect time for me to work during summer! I wanna apply for the position as a Computer Sales Associate. Anyone here works at best buy and how is the working environment and pay like? Plez share! Thanks. ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 2, 2002 since US and Canada has different labor laws, I don't think getting info from US counterparts would help much. I never worked at BestBuy. but I can tell you that most of there stores have same structure/interior. Customer service on the right as you enter, PC at the right side, cell phones at the entrance, CDs/games in the center, cashiers at the leftside, home appliances at left side and car stereos at ledt, cameras and videos and tvs at the back. many professionals seems to be there, so unless you can demonstrate that you have certain level of knowledge in any section, you'll probably end up at bottom of ladder. another thing is that, *probably* BestBuy will killout competitors from local merchants. Wobble 1 Posted June 3, 2002 it will be like this 1 main boss several of his boys who run each section peons the peons are basically disposable dogshit, they dont care if you quit, get fired, die whatever.. because there is always an endless line of people to take your place. advance to become one of the bosse's boys? nope, forget it, the boss will either hand pick his boys from friends, family..etc and if one quits one of the other boss's bosy will have a buddy who will get the job, not you peon, you have your place.. threaten to quit? good, fuckoff.. more oftin than not the people above you will get paid more, do less and will have gotten the job through a friend or familly memeber (boss or boss's boy) in otherwords, dont bother trying to advance, do just enough to not get canned because the rewards (none) will be the same... SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted June 3, 2002 I like the Best Buy hear in Westminster Colorado.Really sweat.I really like the bigass 4x 200 inch monitors on top of the X boxe and the Nintendo Gamecube etc.(not shure exactly how big the TV's are but they are huge).All though i havent been there in a while so im not shure if it is gone, cause i heard they remodeled, and im mostly going to CompUSA.
