The 3D Editor

Recommended Posts

I was just fooling around in TOH trying all sorts of different things. Among them looking for the 3D Editor. So I pressed CTRL + E et voila there is one!

For all of you who don't know how to use it: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=85932

This tool works fine with TOH-missions: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=10204

o really? good discovery. the arma2 3d editor wasn't very intuitive but if tkoh has fixed it and made it easier to work well hell that is awesome.

@twisted: as far as I can tell it's the same as in Arma 2. I always prefer to place Objects in 3D. For more complicated missions I only place the Objects, convert the mission for the 2D Editor and continue editing there, for simple things I just use the 3D editor.

@tekrc:

before you can place units in the 3D editor you need to place at least one Center (F10; BLUFOR, OPFOR, Independent, Civilian or Game Logic). Then place a group (F2); e.g. if you choose Civilian it should say "Center Civilian". Now you can place civilians on the map.

If you plan to finish your mission in the 2D Editor don't bother much with units as they are not exported over to the 2D Editor. Just place one unit so you can save the mission.

It's all explained in the link I provided in the starting post.

Hope that helps.

Cheers ;)

Yeah the 3D editor is a bit more "low level", where you have to do those things manually, whereas the 2D editor does it automatically when you place a unit.

Is it updated from A2/OA standards?
