Hawk_Eye 0 Posted June 2, 2002 Hello, Certain addons such as: castle, dock or prison etc, are supposed to be placed in your username/missions folder, however when i do this; I still cannot locate the addons (when in the editor). Can some one tell me the correct procedure? pls.... And what is the best way to place a vehicle on the map so that it is free of crew? I have tried various commands & inits; but no luck....... Bosun 0 Posted June 2, 2002 Hi. Yes certain addons, the ones that go in the user/mission files. well you access them by loading them under their specific islands, just click on load and go under the islands until you find castle, prison, playpen, ... And to get an empty vehicle, click on unit, and under side click on empty, then pick your vehicle.
Hawk_Eye 0 Posted June 11, 2002 Hmm; I placed "castle Everon" in my user/missions, both open form & inside its own sub folder, still nothing.. So i copied the castle everon files (mission.sqm) & the folder also with castle everon files, went deeper into users folder & pasted them into /saved folder & /mpmissions folder.. just about everywhere.... its a shame, got some great missions ideas.. Thanks for the empty vehicle idea, i had done it a couple of times by fluke & could'nt work out how.
Chris Death 0 Posted June 11, 2002 errm - What you are talking about, aren't addons, more they are like templates. You can't access them by the editor objects/unit selection. The only thing you need to do is: enter the editor and select the island, where this template should be located (you should see this info in the readme file of the template, or you can also detect it by watching the ending of the folder name (intro = desert - abel = malden - eden = everon - cain = kolgujev). Now press load in the editor, and then select the stuff you want to load. A template is similar to a mission, which you can load into your editor and enhance it by adding a mission around the template hope this helps ~S~ CD
AAF_Eagles_Talon 0 Posted June 13, 2002 Those "addons" are good but... most require you to use gunslingers addon to use, and i've seen a lot of e'm and they arn't really playable castles on the inside, my suggestion to you if you want to use a castle for anything but a background object, study those structures, and how they are made, u can do some awesome stuff with those basic ideas. here is some stuff that i did from studying those objects http://home.attbi.com/~t.preston/scrn.html http://home.attbi.com/~t.preston/newshots.html http://home.attbi.com/~t.preston/trap.html http://home.attbi.com/~t.preston/sewer.html I hope this gives u some ideas these are all quite simple to do (if not time-consuming) you can open those addons as if they were user missions AAF_Eagles_Talon
