Essentially these videos can be summed up by one theory: Chaos Theory. There are many holes that have been shot into his theory. The one country I can think of at the moment is Japan. Its population is actually shrinking. Why? The younger population is waiting or forgoing having kids altogether. While this is happening, the older are living much longer than their parents did.

I dont really see what this has to do with chaos theory. The guy basically says that you cant keep on growing if you have finite resources. Hell you cant even keep on using something if its limited and not replenishable.

Ive had these discussions several times in real life and pretty much everyone agrees that its going to be a problem at some point, though its where and when the problems will arise that leads to heated arguments.

I guess you didn't take anthropology in college?

I am familiar with it, yet it still isnt the main point of the video.

In this case: small changes in initial conditions may give wildly different outcomes as to when we wil l run out of certain resources. However, growth isnt stable and we have long surpassed anything resembling initial conditions so chaos theory doesnt really come into play anymore. Its basically his '1 minute to 12' speech.
