VerySolidSnake 0 Posted May 31, 2002 Sorry STS... Anyways, will this be coming to the states? Like ebworld.com or best buy or something? I'm pretty sure it will do well over here.
TheCaptain 0 Posted June 1, 2002 Once I tidy up development on Urban Siege in roughly 9-12 months, Privateer Studios (my development/publishing studio) will be releasing copies of Urban Siege roughly above cost. My decision (which does rely on US seeing the light of day.. confident on that though) was made based on the fact that I will be releasing limited versions for free online, but the boxed version will include extras like a printed manual, reference card, actual CD, and extra content that are impractical for online download (IE, music, movies, etc.) that provide benefits of purchasing the product, as well as having a few extra perks for those that purchase our product, and maybe a little game releated collectible trinket in box... Where's the harm in that? I'm not planning on purposely milking the community, just allowing them the choice of paying a bit more for some game-enhancing extras. Terrible and evil? Not exactly. My two cents.
pathfinder 0 Posted June 1, 2002 I don't see POW selling much in the states, as ofp is collecting dust over here. Atleast untill they drop the prices I hope. Also does the game incorporate some kind of fade ? As I see lan parties being a problem if you don't. One person walks in with a game and 10 people walk out with copies of it. nik 0 Posted June 1, 2002 Stop selling your work: what´s next?   Is this the future of this community?: addons: 3$ mods: 12$ mission-packs: 10$ scripts: 2$ tutorials: 4$ prefabs: 2$ tools: 20$ campanes: 8$ islands: 10$ idears: 5$ Hey, all the work should be free to download, because if not, then the community will die, because of the try to earn money, if this will be the normal way in the future to release  your work. No one should get money for such things, because this will destroying this game-community.    And I bet that this was maybe one of the reasons why BI didn´t give or maybe will give oxygen and visitor for the public and only for people, who signed a contract, because they wanted to prefent, that modmakers, who selling theire work can have the same technical possibilties like BI has.
