Black Russian 10 Posted August 14, 2011 So I always disable Atoc since the beginning not because my graphic card is not powerful enough but because close grass looks like some cheap pixel grid while it looks fine without. You also got this transparent glowing around grass layers and nearby bushes which really kill the atmosphere for me. But at the same time Atoc looks great for trees and bushes in the distance and it has some performance impact so why not use this advantages and disadvantages for good. I am not sure if it is easily possible but why not using Atoc only for distance vegetation and not the close one? So there shouldn't be any ugly pixel grid and no transparent glowing around vegetation and at the the same time it might save some gpu time for other tasks. Maybe it could be linked with the lod part which also makes a difference for close objects and one in the distance?
rangerpl 13 Posted August 14, 2011 (edited) You can set AToC to 6. That will disable it for grass but enable it for trees/bushes. Further reading here: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/arma2.cfg#Example And as far as I remember, the glowy thing disappears at close range. I can't be sure though, i've had AToC turned off for a while. Edited August 14, 2011 by RangerPL
