New and looking for people to play online with

Hello there,

I recently bought Arma Operation arrowhead and both its DLC. I played Operation Flashpoint 1 and ARMA 2 before but not so much. I wanted to try the multiplayer after watching some nice youtube movies where people really work in squads and doing objectives and operate as a army. But i ended up on server where i had no clue what was going on. One dropped me in the middle of the dessert and kilometers away from my objectives and people it seemed.

There for im comming here. Is there any server where people work in teams and accept beginners to the multiplayer? I played allot in the editor but fooling around alone gets boring and would be nice to take part in some online operations. So any people who wouldn't mind having me tag along? I got a headset if needed for talking on teamspeak or what ever you use.

I look forward to hear from the community, im tired of games like CoD where you don't get the real army feeling and don't have to use real tactics. Really wanna experience what i seen in the movies. I don't care if im only used for driving people around or something else, just wanna take part :)

They do play seriously but dont push it over the edge like some ultra-realistic wannabe soldiers where you even have to ask for permission to go to the (virtual or real) toilet...

They use a bunch of mods (mainly ACE/ACRE and several islands) so you will have to download all that and you have to be on TS whenever you play but they teach all the basics about their playing style and mods to new ppl all the time. And the regularly scheduled training courses are excellent btw.

If you are willing to put a little effort into it and learn some required stuff/procedures you will find a great place there to do serious teamwork sessions.

Not out of the box, took me about a week of try-and-error and several of those mentioned training sessions until I started to understand how things should be done.

But look for yourself, go to their website, read the forum (really, READ a lot there and maybe even watch some of their training videos before joining the main game server - it will make first contact a lot easier) and have fun...

Ah thanks allot, will have a look. Not looking for a group of people that ask of me to ask permission to go to the toilet in RL when i gotta go. But what you mention sounds like something i would love to take part in. Thanks allot.

Perhaps i should tell im from Europe. I checked the united operations but they seem to host american servers? Isn't that gonna cause problems with lag?

Well, depends on your personal connection really.

They have a lot guys from all over Europe, too. Most of those ping between 100 and 150 even up to 200+ and its hardly never a problem.

Ah okay, well i got a fast connection so it shouldn't be 200 but more around 100 i guess on a american server. Thanks for the information.

Feel free to take a look at www.3rdmd.net We have a good playerbase that actually has more non-members who play with us on a daily basis than members. No pressure to join the organization or anything.

We have a good server that we play alot of different missions, including Evolution, Domination, and Warfare. If you're looking for a fun coop experience, Evolution or Domination might appeal to you. We are really laid back and just like having fun playing, without all the strict rules that some groups have. Also, we usually don't play with any mods, so you don't have to download or set anything up to play with us.
