Problem with the lights on wall

Recommended Posts

I have a light problem with my addon. The lights on the wall looks ugly.

I triangulate all face and "sharp edge". I selected the faces, load the *.paa file with "a" and pressed "b" for background mapping.

The pictures are the best examples.

pic 2: lights on a addon of "mondkalb"

pic 3: my building

What did i wrong? I tryed it with a simple wall, but a other *.paa file. There is the same problem.

Why not ask mondkalb?

I'm also interested in your problem from an academic point of view. I'm not sure how to solve it, unfortunately. If you find a solution, you should post it here.

I suspect it has to do something with your .rvmat files, or face-properties.

The reason I don't know the solution for this by hard is that I have never encountered this Problem (Or noticed it). So solving this would need some trial-and-error procedure where you change only one variable at a time to find out what is causing this.

And I currently don't have the time to take on this phenomenon.

So, here a quick list of things I would test for:

  • Create a new structure, just a basic wall but with all the textures and rvmats you are using in the bugged building. Then see how it behaves
  • Remove all RVMats and test
  • Remove all textures and test
  • Fiddle around with the Face-Properties, one at a time.

Here's a .p3d from MBG_Buildings_3 without the bug, so you can compare your model to a working model. Try configurating this with your config and bring it ingame. If the bug then also appears on this garage, it is a config.cpp related issue.
