The minimum radius for GRADS, and all Artillery is correct, or still a bit too close. Use the right tool for the kind of work to do...for cloe range use mortars...rocket artillery is for long range bombardment only.

Yes, thank you for the advice of how to use artillery and mortar support. But thats not the question.. I want a grad to fire within 1 km radius because it would be aswesome and fun.

Isn't ArmA supposed to be a Simulation Game?

As long as you don't need grads actually on the map just use the virtual artillery module

Even using virtual artillery range is still a concern as this demo mission shows. You can of course move the virtual battery anywhere you need however.

It IS possible yes, but to do exactly what you want would require editing the vehicle config itself, therefore turning it into a required-download addon. Your only other options are moving the GRAD back, picking a different artillery piece, or messing with virtual artillery.

you could have the Grads placed and just make them fire up in the air, and then use another set of virtual artys back long enough to actually fire at the close position, though the time passed would be the same ( i mean time from virtual arty to impact ) so no short impact time.

Or simply spawn shells or rockets and point them towards the ground using setVectorUpAndDir or something and then push them with setVelocity towards the ground.
