Sniperwolf572 758 Posted August 9, 2011 Local price/price conversion are a publisher decision. Not STEAM/Valve. I'm fully aware, my ranting is directed at digital distribution in general. :)
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted August 9, 2011 I wouldn't say cheaper, most digital download services have higher prices (excluding sales) compared to having a physical copy delivered by mail. With all the sales though you usually can get most things for a great price.
ajax420 0 Posted August 10, 2011 Sprocket Store is the BEST! By direct from the Devs. My digital DL is exactly like a purchased disc. I also got the PMC & BAF for about 12.00 combined on sale at the Devs store. Super easy, just like having a hard copy and my Arma2 purchase was about $15.00 cheaper than the store copy at the time. All I hear about Steam is how much hassle it is. Why do so many peeps continue to use their service for this game. Support your favorite Developers and cut out the annoying middle man (Steam) and buy your ArmaXYZ games from Sprockets Online Store (owned by BIS).
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted August 13, 2011 Why do so many peeps continue to use their service for this game. Because much of what you hear simply isn't true for most people.
Spyder001 1 Posted August 13, 2011 It doesn't really matter where you get the game from (from the perspective of how easy it is to launch with mods/settings). There is no argument for not using some type of game launcher. This is something that BIS should create and officially distribute. I use ArmA II Launcher by SpritedMachine. One thing that steam supports is the validation of game files. Which has saved me many times.
