Compilation of server joining problems

So I've bought OA and BAF from Steam a couple of days ago and thought to give multiplayer another shot. I tried to join a server, I choosed a side, waited to download the mission than got "Receiving data", waited 5 min with no luck. On some of them after a while I get error messages saying that I don't have certain scripts.

eg: client\init\init_basestructure.sqf not found

SCRIPT COMMON\COMMON_INITUNIT.SQF NOT FOUND

So I've tried another server which said that was ~90% full but in the Multiplayer Setup it appeared to be empty.

On one of them I managed to complet each step until it loads the map when for some reason I get the debrief menu/list even thought the mission isn't over and people are still playing.

I've spent much of the past 2 days trying to find a solution. I've seen that others have those problems also but I think that I'm the only one who has them all. I never had any problems on multiplayer until buying OA and BAF.

I managed to join a couple servers with no problems, but those are hosted from Russia and almost everyone speaks Russian.

Further information:

-all the servers I tried were not using addons.

-I have ARMA2, OA and BAF

-I'm using a router with disabled firewall

-everything related to BI games is on the firewall exception list.

-I have no problem starting CO and also tried playing CO with CBA but it doesn't change anything. (possible solution found on internet)

Also does anyone know how can I join the Arma Toshino server? It requires a password but I didn't find anything related on the internet(website, forum etc).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks PvPscene for replying. I'm not sure what to do with the ArmA2OA.RPT. I tried to open the file with notepad and copy the content but it doesn't look at all like the example on the wiki page.

This is the RPT from ArmAOA(didn't find a rpt file for CO). Last time I run Arma I tried to join some of the servers with problems maybe something shows up.

The other thing that confuses me your speaking of OA at times and of CO at times.

Did you buy OA only or CO?

According to your steam launch link you have CO (OA + A2 = CO).

Also try to connect to servers without addons (CBA) and see if it helps.

You can try to tweak your MTU value like in the tickets mentioned above.

Here it is. So I joined 2 servers, the first one had the empty multiplayer setup, the second had the Receiving data problem.

As I said I have ARMA2, OA and BAF. I bought ARMA2 in 2009 and the other a few days ago. I'm using the _runA2CO program to play with all of them combined. Thats what I mean with CO. Also I only tried playing with CBA once or twice because someone said it might help. I mentioned it here so people don't post about it again.

Also I looked around in the Router(54M Wireless Router) Menu for MTU but didn't find it anywhere.

Check the link; many people in the arma2.ru community had the problem.

They might be able to help you.

Basically MTU tweaking (I think there are tools to do that) or getting a different router seems the solution.

Well I've tried almost every possible solution that I could find without success. The only things that remained are buying a router of better quality or changing the internet provider. I won't try these solution right now since it will cost me more than the game but I will do a fresh install of the windows in the near future, maybe that will help.

Anyway I have found two servers that run great and since I only play warfare I could say that these problems don't really affect my multiplayer experience. But I hope that these problems are still looked into and will be solved in the future patches.

And you could always add your info to the CIT ticket.

The more people speak up, the more likely it is to have BI look into it.
