I have never been able to get past this and so I have never been able to play an online game. What is the problem here? larsiano 12 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) You need to update your game. Look on http://www.armedassault.com/agegate.html for the latest patch or if you have a Steam version use the steam console to get the latest version. I have Arma 2 Combined Operations, so I have both Arma 2's. Do I need Arma 1? I used to play Battlefield 2, then went without internet for long time. I got internet again and saw Arma 2 and was mesmerized by the realism and tactics availible. I thought Battlefield 2 would be hard to beat for its balance realism and intensity. Til I found Arma. Like Battlefield 2, Im sure its tons better online, than dealing with stupid AI teammates. In Arma, I cant effectively get my AI team to do what is needed and react to my opposition. I need real common sense people that will take cover on their own and shoot in the way that is needed. I have seen Shack Tactical operation vids and thats what Im lookin for, but after lookin at their site, I am usually busy on Saterdays(thats when they seem to play). But I cant even start to look around if I cant even get online and get a feel for this game, online. Do I bneed Arma 1 or do I need a different patch for my Arma 2 Combined OPs? This is why I had asked what I asked, your in the wrong form, this forum is for Arma1, and no Arma1 is a standalone game by itself, you do not need Arma1 to run Arma2, they are both 2 seperate games on 2 seperate game engines.
