[Resolved] Expansions Not Working in CO

Recommended Posts

The expansions menu in my steam version of CO simply does not operate. I have tried reinstalling various bits and bobs, but my expansions menu won'te repond to any mouse clicks except for the cancel and OK buttons.

Here's an example starting with a CBA and Invasion 1944 mods (the problem exists with and without mods):

Shortcut command line:

"C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe" "-mod=C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2;Expansion;ca;@CBA;@i44co" -nosplash -noPause

My expansions menu (menu background works as normal)

When you add mods in the launch parameters, you cannot change them in the internal modlauncher.

You can only do that if you do not use -mod=mod1;mod2.

So how did you launch it?

I have a similar problem in that I have an installation of ArmA2 from Steam, and an installation of OA from a disk, which combined to form ArmA2OA/CO perfectly.

(C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe.)

My problem is, where do I install "Invasion1944?" In the "Expansion" folder or the "ArmA2" folder? I added ACE and ACEX and CBA to the target line in the shortcut, but when I play I44 I get everything coming up in the Single Missions list, not just I44. Any thoughts?

in the OA folder, like

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@I44CO

and -mod=@CBA;@I44CO

however you can put them anywhere and use absolute pathing like

"-mod=x:\path\to\modfolder"

Thanks for the prompt reply, PvP. I actually gave you wrong info. in my post. The link I have is "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2"

I installed the @I44CO folder in there. Should it have gone into the Expansions folder? And do the Missions folders go in the @I44CO folder or into ArmA2? Perhaps you would give me the correct string and I can take it from there. Thanks.

I highly recommend installing and using Six Updater at dev-heaven.net. It is a much better way to manage mods.

If you want to do it manually, then consult the wiki and startup parameters at http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma2:_Startup_Parameters.

Focus on the -mods startup option. In summary, you simply start arma with:

arma2oa.exe "-mod=@CBA;@I44CO"

Putting the -mod command in quotes is only necessary if you have spaces in your path, but it can never hurt.

Whizkid lets recap first - are these path correct?

A2: "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2"

OA: "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead"

And yes you could use tools like Focher suggests to ease things.

The A2 is correct, but there is nothing after that. I have OA.exe installed in that folder but there is no actual A2OA folder in there, just the icon. And I just have the ArmA2 Combined Ops icon on my desktop. Is there any way I can make a snapshot of the C:\...........\arma2 folder and post it for you?
