[Resolved] ARMA II Free will not install

I downloaded the setup from the GameUpdates torrent link, and did all the extracting and whatnot to get to the installation. When I install it, however, near the end of the installation I always get this error:

I retried many times, aborted and restarted it many times, and tried running as administrator many times as well, but none of that has worked. Can anybody help?

This indicates either problems:

a) with the dowload - did you use a download manager?

b) with your HDD - did you use scandisk recently?

b) with your RAM - did you run ramtest or a similar app?

I uninstalled ARMA from my computer, completely removed everything to do with it, and redownloaded it from a different source, all to the the same effect. I still get the same exact error when trying to install the game.

I just ran scandisk a second ago, no help.

I'm almost certain it's nothing to do with my RAM.

You should uninstall again then install & run CCCleaner (it will clean your registry from any shitty previous install) then install again & report back here.

This actually very surprisingly worked. I think this is the first time any advice I've been given regarding nonworking games has actually worked, so thank you very much :)
