You have said earlier that you work with taxes. Being a government bureaucrat doesn't IMO count as doing something importrant for your country.

True, but there is still a difference between talking and putting your money where your mouth is.

So, since you have turned this "discussion" into a 4th grade name calling contest I'm out of here.

<span id='postcolor'>

My name calling?? Nah, whatever, I am through with you. Not worth the effort.<span id='postcolor'>

Taxes? When did I say I did anything with taxes? I work with legislation....bills and such. And as I said your piddly opinion doesn't matter. Your pathetic little closed mind makes me sad. I may seem closed minded but I admit when I am wrong, or when I feel the US is wrong. Search the posts....its true. And what have YOU done for your country that makes your opinion and views SO much better than others?

I am wasting no more time on your sad little "arguements" and mis-informed opinions. Hope you have a good day and sorry we don't agree on anything, though that doesn't justify personal attacks (and no there was no sarcasm there...I hope you do have a nice day).

umm.. death penalty is based upon proportional punishment.  I don't see anything in the bible based upon "eye for an eye".  I know thats in the Koran though.<span id='postcolor'>

I think "eye for an eye" is Old Testament. Not sure though. But it is in the Bible somewhere. All religions have done evil things in their name....ummm...except maybe Buddhists....

True I did contridict myself...stupid human nature....

So my opinion means nothing if I don't have MILITARY service? Well then I guess about 90% of the Earths opinions don't matter.

I hate to do this to you Albert, but the passage says

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' 39 But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. <span id='postcolor'>

Which is basically saying that eye for an eye is not a very good policy according to the new testament.

No, I never said that your opinion didn't matter. All I said was that talk is easy. That perhaps trying to have some understanding for what war means before yelling "Bomb Iraq!".

If you personally are ready to go and drop some bombs and kill people, then I will respect your opinions.

War is a nasty radical thing to start. I think that you should be able to motivate why you go to war and you should have an understanding for what it means for the people getting bombed.

Talk is real easy. And I have an inclining what war means and does though I have never personally seen its effects (unless a car bomb on my base counts but I don't think it is nearly the same). And no I didn't say I wanted to go bomb Iraq willy-nilly. I only thought that inspectors were needed since Saddam has shown he is willing to use these horrible weapons.

War sucks big time (massive understatement), espeically for the non-fighting civilians that it effects. If there is some way to do it without effecting thousands of lives I'll go for that route in a heartbeat. I don't want to just go bomb Iraq but I stand by my statement that Saddam should go.

Oy! I was just refering to where this was stated! No liability there! Anyway there are more references in the bible concerning the issue. E.g 3 Book of Moses, Chapter 24, .... and many more (sorry cant state that cause rarely keep a bible around me! The cooking-book of Escoffier is my bible)

I found a Bible Search.

Apparently the first time that "eye for an eye" thing was used was in the pre-Bible code of Hammurabi.

@Akira:

Let's leave the discussion at that in a semi-civilized way. There is nothing I can say to convince you, so I'll put my attempts on hold.

BTW we got a scientology church here in Lausanne. And there are always lots of security cameras and wanna-be gurus around that house. Right around the corner of it you find a big big swiss Bank (so the poor followers dont need to walk far to pay all their money to the church biggrin.gif )

Yeah we have a church here too. Right across from the campus here with big letters stating "Scientology" for all to see.

You can see people actually walk closer to the road to avoid getting too close. Sometimes there someone outside trying to sucker people in too.

I thought the church was banned in Germany? Or is it that it just doesn't get the benefits of other churchs?

I guess it is banned in Germany, but not here in Switzerland! And of course they also need to have a church where they store all their money. I must admit I too move to the other side of the road when I pass by that Scientology house (just like a prison for mentaly disabled criminals). I bet we already got a scientology spy in this forum that will try to get into our heads and modify us and make us mental robots.

THey are here, Akira, dont trust anyone!!!

(and if you see this guy, you better run!!wink.gif

From now on when someone doesnt agree 100% with my opinion I will proclaim that he is a scientology spy biggrin.gif ! Everyone will be so afraid of my accusals that they will all agree! You are all looking forward into a period of insultive accusals, threats and mistrust.... tounge.gif And then I will open my own church, and they will call me Flahspoint-guru and you will all pay 80% of your income to my account so you can take part in my mental-classes biggrin.gif

You are very devoted to your church I see. Going around the world from one scientology church to another without having a permanent base, must be hard for you biggrin.gif

Akira,

This is not intended as a personal attack..but cant you read??? The American timber industry is and has always been healthy and profitable. No americans are losing jobs. Sheesh.

Now..onto happy things.

We can ALL finally agree on something. Scientology is EVIL!
