Vepr 0 Posted May 20, 2002 Well, I would really like to know why it takes so darn long with the Receiving Data... Sometimes it takes only 1 second or 10 seconds, while it sometimes doesnt load at all, even freezes the computer. I am really angry that you haven't fixed that. There is nothing wrong with my connection or computer. 1 Mbit is enough. I have even noticed that when I am in Receiving Data screen when admin starts the game, I get in as well.. Butt the game puts in all the lost messages that have been typed in and it feels like I a huge lagg, most of all it looses the connection. Now will that be fixed in 1.55? I have tryed in 1.55 and it did the same, few times. My next question, what the heck is OFP doing under the Receiving data... Thank you

Vepr 0 Posted May 20, 2002 well, I have a: Siemens & Fujitsu 733Mhz P3 Rage fury pro/Xpert 2000 32Mb Card 128 RAM Windows XP Pro Swe 1Mbit Cable OFP version 1.
Mister Frag 0 Posted May 20, 2002 Add memory to your system -- 128MB of RAM is not enough, especially when playing MP games with Windows XP. Reboot your system, and immediately after you log in, bring up the Task Manager and see how much physical memory is in use. You'll find that very little (if any) is free before you even load OFP. Vepr 0 Posted May 20, 2002 naah, I get around 50Mb free for OFP, and Singleplayer works perfectly.
Placebo 31 Posted May 20, 2002 50mb? That's hardly anything, not when you take into account things like the mission, map, addons, all things like that which take up memory, and when that's getting low which won't take long if you only have 50mb free to start with, then it starts using virtual memory which can really slow things down. How much memory is in use now, total (including swap space) and physical?
