LiquidArrogance 10 Posted May 14, 2011 Sorry if this has been asked before, I've tried searching for answers like crazy but any searches I've tried to put together come up empty. I'm in single player campaign, I switch to map view and realize that myself and my sniper are both marked in red as enemies. Enemy forces are marked as green, but still attack us. The kicker is, the other two members of my squad are still friendlies. If I go to "switch to leader" it switches me to number 3, but no one will obey his commands because we're both enemies?? And the B of the matter is any time anyone from the squad sees eachother they kill eachother and the mission ends. This happened in middle of a rather intense bout of sniping so I'm not sure what the catalyst was. Anyone know what the heck is going on??
no use for a name 0 Posted May 14, 2011 Did you maybe kill any civies/friendlies?
LiquidArrogance 10 Posted May 14, 2011 It's certainly a possibility . . . I was just posted on a water tower shooting everything that moved and had a gun . . . lol Would that cause this to happen, and if so is there any way to undo it other than hope I have a save still where it hadn't happened yet? Unrelated side note: No Use for a Name -- good stuff. ---------- Post added at 07:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:04 PM ---------- Ok . . . went back a few saves. I climb on this water tower and massive ammounts of dudes start running out of this tree line and shooting at us . . . so I proceed to waste them all. Well I go to my map and all of these dudes show on my map as friendlies . . . they sure don't act very friendly, though. So, no idea what's going on :-/
Hanzu 10 Posted May 14, 2011 By telling us what campaign and what mission it is. Someone might know what is going on there. I could give some examples of missions where NAPA (allied) guys rush towards you with guns from same direction than Chedaki (enemy). So only shoot those unknown men after you are sure they tried to shoot at you first. And yes, this game sometimes punishes of friendly fire, by making AI friendlies to shoot you as a traitor. LiquidArrogance 10 Posted May 14, 2011 I'm on Manhattan -- no particular task right now, I was just cruising back to base when this happened. I'll try reloading and see who tries to kill who . . . lol. Thanks for the replies! ---------- Post added at 07:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:22 PM ---------- Well this certainly sucks . . . i guess the guys running out in front of (shown as friendlies) were really shooting at some guys coming up behind me (that also show as friendlies?). I take it this was part of some faction thing going on that I should've paid more attention to. Thing is, even on my earliest save my sniper has already taken out enough dudes to be turned enemy status. No way around this other than to restart mission?? Suckfest :j:
Hanzu 10 Posted May 14, 2011 Reveal hidden contents If you are driving back to base (FOB Manhattan) I assume you have a reason for that and have completed number of tasks=objectives or even all of them which should mean there should not be much enemies around anymore. At least not wandering near FOB Manhattan. There are some friendly forces but most of them are CDF or US standing on some roadside outposts. In Manhattan CDF can be easily confused as enemy because they use quite similar gear and vehicles as Chedaki. So maybe you have killed some somewhere earlier and they have become hostile even though you still see them as friendlies (with what actually, in map?). ...also I'm not sure if Sykes or any other computer controlled Razor Team member would shoot friendlies accidentally even if you accidentally order them to do so. In your "bad" save, I would just try to make whole team to lie down, pop some smokes, roll away, self-defend or just wait those 2 parties to finish each other up. Are you playing Veteran or Expert difficulty (like I always do) since you only have one save?
.kju 3245 Posted May 15, 2011 If you kill enough bad boys, you can get into positive score again and all will be fine. You need to lonewolf during that time and avoid friendlies at all cost.
