digitalcenturion 20 Posted May 18, 2002 Well OFP, and every other new direct3d game, freezes a few seconds into the game. WinXP identifies the file nv4_disp as the faulty one. I have K7T266 Pro mainboard, AMD athlon xp 1700+ processor, windows XP pro, AGP running at 2x ( i tried 1x too), VIA 4-1 patch applied, forceASPI applied, drivers i think are the lates detonator ones (28.32?), DirectX 8.1 Can anyone help me? // // Watchdog Event Log File // LogType: Watchdog Created: 2001-05-18 113:45 TimeZone: -120 - FLE, normaltid WindowsVersion: XP EventType: 0xEA - Thread Stuck in Device Driver // // The driver for the display device got stuck in an infinite loop. jawk2 1 Posted May 18, 2002 humm if i were u i ll not use the driver 28.32, and after the VIA 4in1 patch 14.38: (your loop is a classical of nvidia since the few last patch) The nvidia 2832 thought it is better than the previous still got some bugs, and is optimized more for the GEF4 than the previous cards, maybe u should try some older patch or try the driver beta 28.90 *i ve see a differences in less crash, but not in perf)* The 4in1 drivers after the 1436 isnt recommended with flashpoint, especially if u use a Microsoft joystick (u ll have for sure an input device error).... same the patch after 1436 got some problems with soundblaster soundcard. I suggest u to use NVmax (findable evrywhere) and put the right thing into *some are for VIa MBoard*. Same i suggest u to get the DirectX applet and remove the directsound debugger.... another thing take care of your Bios, if u use a inbound soundcard/modem the Northbridge VIA chipset is not fully compatible with Geforce (still stupid), u ll got for sure memory leaked.
