-=seany=- 5 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Various bugs with weapon systems have been bothering me more and more lately. This is the first bug report of a couple to do with vehicles weapons i will be making. I'm sure most of you will have experienced this one at some point. Throw it some votes if you here: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/18656 Description: Wire guided munitions are useless versus targets over 1500m away, when guiding them manually. (eg Veteran Difficulty level; "Auto Guide AT: Disabled"). Affected: TOW, 9M113 Konkurs, Metis AT13. The real world range of all of these munitions is over 3500m. Playing missions, or on servers where the difficulty level is Veteran, all these weapon systems are no use at over 1500m range. Current result: Wire guided Missiles fired at targets over 1500m away are bouncing off the ground Expected Result: These wire guided missiles should be able to hit targets over 3500m away with out bouncing off the terrain without having to use the Auto Lock feature. Test/Repo Mission: Instructions: 1.Set your view distance to 3500m. 2.Board one of the affected vehicles lined up for testing and Either; don't lock the target you are trying to hit or switch to Veteran difficulty (Auto Guide AT: Disabled) 3.Try to kill the BMP2 to your 12 o' Clock, 1600m away with a Wire guided missile. Tip: the TOW Tripod gives a good visual indication of the problem as it has a strong zoom level. Affected TOW vehicles: M2a3 M2a3 ERA Stryker TOW TOW Tripod HMMWV TOW Affected 9M113 Konkurs Vehicles: BMP2 BTR90 BRDM ATGM Affected Metis AT13 vehicles: Metis Tripod This being looked at under the following ticket http://dev-heaven.net/issues/11088 Vote/Discuss there Edited April 2, 2011 by -=seany=-
-=seany=- 5 Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) No one else is bothered by this? Surely some of you must agree they way they handled these type of missiles in ACE was far better than the default BIS way. The fact that the ACE team could change it so easily seems like a real shame we cant get these changes in a patch. It's obviously not that hard to implement. Wouldn't you like them to change/improve it. Or most are happy to keep them in their current state? Edited April 4, 2011 by -=seany=-
nyles 11 Posted April 15, 2011 I am bothered by this a lot, actually. It has been discussed on this forum several times already and there are multiple entries in the bug tracker. Unfortunately, nothing has changed so far, even though it looks like an easy, cheap and low-risk fix. Mentioning this again doesn't hurt however, so bumping it up. :)
