editor preview skips intro

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to create an intro for my mission, I've gone through all the tutorials, but I can't find anything relating to the problem i'm having.

I selected the intro on the right, I set up the scene i want with the units, I created my guy with the [ this exec "camera.sqs" ] in the init box. but when I click preview, it skips directly to the mission and so i can't even begin to position my camera.

So, am I missing something here? is a init.sqf file nessasary while editing a mission for this to work? I'm lost and can't seem to find anything on why it's not letting me see the intro and prepare the camera positions in the editor.

Try leaving intro selected on the right.

aye, but it is.

I tried it on the mission setting to see if it was a problem with the script, and it works fine, but when I have intro selected on the right, I get the problem above

It works for me. Just created a guy with INTRO selected and put this exec "camera.sqs" in his init. Pressed PREVIEW and it goes straight to the camera.

Maybe showscripterrors (in your shortcut) might help you if you don't already have it turned on.

Also...check the .rpt file for errors.

Intro

Create player with:

this exec "camera.sqs"

in the player init: works for me too?

Got any conflicting addons maybe? Turn them off one by one?

If you have a script running with an error in it the camera sometimes malfunctions and you get a 3rd person view from behind the player. It looks like a mission but it's the camera.sqs intro - just not working as intended. It happened to me when I had a ; missing from the end of a line.
