Looks interesting...

Recommended Posts

I just now stumbled upon an upcoming Tom Clancy game called Splinter Cell. It looks interesting to say the least, and is obviously still in the developmental stages, so it'll be interesting to see hat comes of this.

Check out some screens...

Good shit.

What is it, a first-person-shooter?

It looks like a Resident Evil kind of game.

yeah, its looking pretty good to me actually. Its definitely a departure from the games that Ubi soft has signed Tom Clancys name to. I just hope to god that isnt a health bar at the top of the screen.

I just read the preview over at gamespy. Its gonna be like a stealth thing, a la Metal Gear Solid, but without all the Japanese anime bullshit. You play a guy who works for a shadowy NSA group called Third Echelon, that has a license to protect American interests with any means necessary. Apparently the physics are already pretty good, and the movement is supposed to be very versatile

I was really into metal gear solid when i played playstation games more. A game like that for PC could easily flop, and hard, if the controls suck though. Thats one of the reasons MGS was so good is because it was on a console system, and the controls werent messy at all. Knowing Clancys games, it should at least be managable though.

Its supposed to be completely different from RS and R6. For example... you can cause collateral damage and still achieve your mission! Sort of like Deus Ex, you can kill everyone you see... but is it in your best interests?

I just saw this in the latest PC GAMER UK (dont worry its not like the US PC GAMER) and they seemed quite interested in it.

I bought MGS for my playstation ages ago and this looks way better so it could be a definate hit.

I think its out this summer wink.gifconfused.gif

Knowing Tom Cla-...Ubi-Soft, it should be pretty good at the least. Even the graphics would make it worth messin around on at this point.

Hmm yes, yes.

Hmm i have some second thoughts about this game. Although the shots may look great, i don't like game where you get different cameraviews all the time. And it looks like this is the case in this game. Like Resident Evil, that game sucked becasue of this.

yeah, that's probably just some staged screenshots. I doubt a tactical game would use such lamo angles.
