dualhammers 10 Posted March 6, 2011 Hey all, I just got a fancy new PC and a Track IR 5 and I am super excited about getting ARMA 2, but I have one question. I currently have two 1080p monitors and I want to try and use both at the same time in ARMA2. Normally I wouldn't consider this as I would assume unelss you have 3 monitors that the middle of your screen would be between the two bezels. In EVE online, however, they just implemented camera center shifting, so you can shift the camera center left or right. Meaning that I can shift the entire image have the crosshair centered on the right side of the left screen. Can the same thing be done in ARMA2?
Tonci87 163 Posted March 7, 2011 So you want to have the center on screen one and have the picture continued on screen 2? This would be an Eyefinity setup witout the third monitor. But seriously, this ain´t gonna look nice. You well feel like you are blinded on one eye. The better solution would be to invest in a third monitor if you really want to have a greater FOV
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted March 8, 2011 Don't have to be so bad I think. If I used my two monitors this way, I'd shift the view slightly to the right. So I loose some vision to my right, which is natural since when aiming you'll loose ability to see to the right. While to the left the view is expanded greatly. Not so much as the aimpoint is centered on the right screen of course, that would take away too much from my awareness. Just enough to make sighting possible by having it not centered smack in the middle of two monitors. User controllable of course, by setting a pixel offset. Not something I would do myself, as it would still be weird to me. But each to his own. At least it is taking advantage over two monitors with a realistic feature, compared to those who want a full blown map on the secondary, which I strongly oppose. wamingo 1 Posted March 9, 2011 never used more than 1 monitor so this might be a useless suggestion but... can you drag/resize the window in windowed mode across monitors to offset it?

I could try windowed mode but I am concerned about performance issues.
bushlurker 46 Posted March 10, 2011 (edited) Take a look at Kegetys' SoftTH software triplehead.... works fine with Arma 2 on just about any number of screens... I use it for 4244x1200 resolution across 3 screens (a 12:10 widescreen and 2x19" 4:3 monitors turned portrait mode) - that's where the screenshots in my sig come from... but you can use any number of monitors in just about any arrangement... If you've got 2 x monitors and a graphics card with 2 x outs, then you're ready to go... drop the SoftTH .dll in your main Arma 2 directory and start the game - it'll autoconfigure itself and you're ready to play! Once you've had a look at the autogenerated config you can edit parameters in there - add bezel management, etc... for 3 x monitors you need a second graphics card... though - the main card does the Big Render - the second card merely catches it's "chunk" over the Pci-E bus and displays it, so that card can be seriously crap - almost anything will do... I use an old ebay 10 buck 8600GT... it has 2 x outs as well, so I could go 4-way display if I pick up a fourth monitor sometime... ... did I mention SoftTH is free?! ;) PS... there's a short piece I wrote about multiple monitors on my wee website... in the "Under The Bush" sortof blog section...
