Saint Warrior 10 Posted February 27, 2011 Hi all, Could anybody explain me what triple buffering does if it is applied over ArmA II:CO in graphics card control settings? I have turned on triple buffering on my HD 4870 X2 and now I have somewhat of a bit better and quicker texture loading in-game. I mean textures load faster and on greater distances. I am playing on all Normal settings with disabled Vsync. Thanks.
birtuma 28 Posted February 27, 2011 Triple buffering has nothing to do with texture loading. It just adds a third buffer to the buffer to make Vsync a little faster and to decrease the input lag. With triple buffering enabled and Vsync disabled you probably won't see any difference to triple buffering disabled. Actually you even need more free space in the RAM while triple buffering is activated, so it's a wasted space.
