mcarma 19 Posted February 25, 2011 Great tool! Just wondering what choice you use for 'Antialiasing - Setting'?
-=seany=- 5 Posted February 25, 2011 It is a great tool all right. However, I cant figure out how the hell you apply external, forced AA any more. It used to work through the driver, but Nvidia got rid of it about the same time they added that Ambient Occlusion option to the Arma2 driver profile. Have you had any success in forcing AA with Inspector? I want to try forced AA again for two reasons: first because I want to see if it will get rid of the horrible white speckles on foliage that In game AA gives (I have my doubts though). Second, I want to see if 2x AA gives better FPS than In game Low AA.

I have no speckling at all. W7 x64, GTX480 w/266.58 driver release. Edited February 25, 2011 by McArma
-=seany=- 5 Posted February 26, 2011 I don't think it is AF at all. It comes and goes for me simply by turning on or off in game AA. I already have AF set to 16 in the driver. Are you using Super sampling? Where you able to force AA by using Inspector? If you where could you post what settings/Flags you set? Thanks!
mcarma 19 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) Yes AA appears to be working on my system. What O/S are you using? Are you overclocking your video card? try these: 2x [2x Multisampling] 4x [4x Multisampling] 4xS [Combined: 1x2 SS + 2x MS (D3D only)] Edited February 26, 2011 by McArma
-=seany=- 5 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) Yeah, tried all of them, none do anything for me. Didn't you have to set any flags for AA compatibility? Or did you have to change the Antialiasing Behaviour Flags? You have your AA setting disabled in game? mcarma 19 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) Antialiasing - Behavior Flags is set at -> Disable 'Enhance the application setting' Antialiasing - Mode is set at -> Override any application setting Anisotropic filtering mode is set at -> User-defined / Off Edited February 26, 2011 by McArma
tremanarch 6 Posted June 7, 2012 So is there an actual well known good setting for the Inspector? I am just fiddling around with this - maybe the pro's in this thread can give me their settings?
-=seany=- 5 Posted June 7, 2012 Ha dunno about pros, maybe McArma. I'm just wandering headless chicken :D About Inspector, it is useful. But I only turn to it when I have some problem, like the above with AA. It appears you can not force AA on Arma2 via Nvidia any more. I eventually gave up on this as the post process AA types that Bis added are working well enough that I don't miss MSAA too much now. I can't see too much advantage (I'm not aware of any) to using Inspector for Arma at the moment. Maybe others may know of some nice things you can do with it. If your looking for more eye candy over what BIS's in game settings can give. I would suggest going into to your Nvidia Control panel and to the Arma OA profile and set Anisotropic Filtering to x16. This has no effect on performance and makes the textures look much sharper. I think BIS's in game maximum AF setting is equivalent to Nvidia x8 Filtering. Leon86 13 Posted June 7, 2012 I use it for the frame limiter.
