concurssi 11 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) I run ArmA 2 CO with a batch file on account of having a lot of modfolders. START "ArmA" "D:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe" -nosplash -maxmem=4094 -cpuCount=3 -winxp -exThreads=7 -mod=@CBA;@JayArma2Lib;@acre;@WarFX-Blastcore;@WarFX-Lighting;@WarFX-SunLight;@WarFX-Tracers;@HiFi_SFX;@HiFi_Weapons_Long;@HiFi_Vehicle_Weapons;@JSRS-E;@JSRS-V;@JSRS-W;@JSRS-VW;@JTD;@landtex;@sthud;@stmovement;@zeu_AI;@mapPlus;@compass;@binoc The problem is that the loading thing (the gray box with the progress bar) appears and a couple of the boxes on the progress bar fill up, but then: ArmA 2 OA has stopped responding. It's not mod related; even if I try to start it without any mods, it doesn't work. If I use a normal shortcut, it'll start up, but then I can't use all my mods, and I just can't play without them anymore. Edit: I forgot to mention that it's worked just fine until today. ArmAriffic 10 Posted February 11, 2011 have you try'd using a mod launcher or making a new shortcut with the same params
concurssi 11 Posted February 11, 2011 There's not enough room in the entry field to make a shortcut with these parameters, and when I tried a mod launcher, I just couldn't get it to work properly.
concurssi 11 Posted February 12, 2011 Come on guyes, someone please help! I want to play ;_;
.kju 3245 Posted February 12, 2011 @mapPl us; has a space in it. Is the above the complete command line? If really the length is the problem, which I don't believe as mine is way longer, you can still shorten the modfolder names.
concurssi 11 Posted February 12, 2011 For some reason the quote adds that space, but the line itself doesn't have it. And yes, the above is the complete command line.

Guest Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) BUMP! Mine has also stopped working today. I know get the same problem (last 2 blocks don't load.) It has always worked fine and for no reason just stopped working today... Has there been a new patch or something that may have introduced this problem? EDIT: I use steam and also use a batch file to run Combined Ops. Edited February 12, 2011 by Guest
.kju 3245 Posted February 12, 2011 Maybe related to windows patching day?
concurssi 11 Posted February 12, 2011 ? You've lost me.
Guest Posted February 12, 2011 Here is mine: :runs"%_STEAMPATH%\steam.exe" -applaunch 33930 "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca" "-mod=@CBA;@WarFXParticles;@Tracers;@JSRS-W;@JSRS-VW;@JSRS-V;@JSRS-E;" -nosplash -world=empty -showScriptErrors I havn't added/edited any mods in ages though and its always worked... concurssi 11 Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) ?You've lost me. No wait, I know what that's about. I tried to combine all my warFX and JSRS files into one to see if I could make the modline shorter so I could fit it into the shortcut. However, this was after the batch file stopped working. Since that didn't work, I deleted those modfiles, downloaded them again, and am now back to using the modline I posted in the first post. .kju 3245 Posted February 12, 2011 As you said you did not modify anything with arma, nor use a different game version/beta patch, it must be some external reason. As this week was another windows patching day, it was a wild guess.
Guest Posted February 12, 2011 Ok, I fixed it! I have a feeling this will probably not work for you but it has for me. I dissconected my HDD and reconnected it. Then restarted my comp and now it works fine:)
concurssi 11 Posted February 12, 2011 Ugh, I don't really wanna go digging around inside my computer :( It'd be so easy to mess it all up since I don't really know which wires to pull and which ones to leave alone.
Guest Posted February 12, 2011 Yeah man, I don't blame ya. I hope you get it sorted soon mate.
concurssi 11 Posted February 12, 2011 What the...?! Now it won't even start with the original arma2oa.exe file!
concurssi 11 Posted February 13, 2011 Hey Acelondoner, did you ever try the original .exe before you fixed it, or just the batch file?
Guest Posted February 13, 2011 I only tried the batch file, not the original exe so I don't know wether it would ave worked from the original or not...
concurssi 11 Posted February 13, 2011 Shame :( I'm reinstalling everything now and it seems to work. I couldn't deal with the sweats and the shakes I was getting from not playing for such a long time. I just hope this doesn't turn into a monthly event. concurssi 11 Posted February 14, 2011 Okay it worked. Seems some other people have been having this problem too and this is the only thing that fixed it for me.
Dwarden 1125 Posted February 14, 2011 the original modline was ofcourse problem as whole "-mod=whatevermodsYouhavehere" must be enclosed by "" :) also -maxmem= maximum is still 2047 afaik
concurssi 11 Posted February 14, 2011 Well I'm still using the same batch file, I just reinstalled the game START "ArmA" "D:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe" -nosplash -maxmem=4094 -cpuCount=3 -winxp -exThreads=7 -mod=@CBA;@JayArma2Lib;@acre;@WarFX-Blastcore;@WarFX-Lighting;@WarFX-SunLight;@WarFX-Tracers;@JSRS-E;@JSRS-V;@JSRS-W;@JSRS-VW;@JTD;@landtex;@sthud;@stmovement;@zeu_AI;@mapPlus;@compass;@binoc That's exactly how I run it, and it works awesome! So I'm not so sure that it needs to be enclosed with "" :) And the maxmem, I haven't had any problems with this so I don't really mind. At least this way, when (hopefully) the memory cap is raised, I won't have to change it again :)
concurssi 11 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) Update time :) I use ACRE, so naturally I have JayArmA2Lib in there. If you start the game with a normal shortcut, and you load JayArmA2Lib in the modline, it checks for updates for the Lib. If it finds one, it'll ask you if you want to update. I figured I could get the latest update by doing this, so I did it. Then I closed the game, and lo and behold, my batch file didn't work again. Hmmm :) I downloaded the ACRE installer, installed it again, and now it works again. This leads me to believe, Watson, that the problem was caused by JayArmA2Lib.
