WallyWombat 10 Posted February 3, 2011 I maxed everything in OFP, I have a very good comp. but it seems I get lag in towns. (I have terrain set to normal) In the woods etc' the game runs wonderful, but in a town its just awful. PC specs: processor: intel i7 820 2.90 Ghz graphics card/s: dual Nvidia GTA 250's RAM: 8 gigs DDR3 OS: Windows home 64-bit
stgn 39 Posted February 3, 2011 OFP can't run at Highest settings unfortunately detail slider should be in the middle, if you want to avoid lag. STGN
Macser_old 0 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Hello guys, I think it might be something to do with hardware.Or at least it could be a factor. OFP was written for very different gear than we have available today. Perhaps the engine just isn't capable of using newer video cards and CPUs to their fullest.Actually I think the CPU takes the biggest load,so the video card may not get much of a workout at all. I only say that,as I've had a similar experience.Other people have reported the same thing also.Even after an upgrade there's no discernible improvement in framerates.Or in some cases the game may not work at all. I think you'll just have to take STGN's advice, and dial the detail back a little. In any case welcome to the forums Wally. :) Edited February 3, 2011 by Macser
WallyWombat 10 Posted February 5, 2011 Thanks, I think that Macser is correct, when I am on the preferences screen it says I have "No ram" does this have anything to do with my new hardware being incompatible with OFP?
stgn 39 Posted February 6, 2011 Ignore the ram in prefrences it can only detect around 2gb if I remember correctly and OFP only uses 512 max so its problery because the prefrences program is incompatible with the ram. STGN
