i know i think ive seen it, DKM mod or something but i think that one is part of a mod so theyll probably release it as a pack, and ive actually got to make a BTR-80 for someone elses mod so i might as well do it.

progress report:

ive got the basic models of the sides done, but its going to take me a while as im modelling in a different way this time, im doing it the way bis did it where they basically only use planes and maybe a couple of shapes, i think it looks a whole lot better and saves a great deal on polygons smile.gif

Thanks alot for deciding to make the btr-80 it will be really useful, i can think of so many missions that you could make using it...now we just have to find someone to make the lav-25 or even better the v-150 smile.gif

could I just say that bringing a new soldier model into OFP is just as easy, in fact probably a little easier than bringing a new vehicle model....how about some new soldier models too....? UK soldiers would be great. I would do the myself but I am not the best at modelling or texturing, and I have other projects that I am working on. Just a little suggestion to all the modders out there who don't yet have the tools that making new soldiers and civilians for OFP and importing them into the game really isn't all that hard biggrin.gif

yes but a new vehicle has more gameplay value than a new soldier model, it add's a new element to the game

there you go, i tried to keep the polys as low as possible, and everything there is only 2200 polys smile.gif

(thats the btr-80 btw with a 14.5mm cannon and 12.5mm machinegun)

Eviscerator, you and Kegetys are rapidly becoming the only reliable, quality mod producers out there!

OK, maybe that's a bit hard on the others, but after all the BS about the C-130, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Now if only the others with Oxygen could start putting stuff out...come on! smile.gif

urmm to my knowledge Eviscreator hasn't actually made any completely new addons...

Just p3d edits..

Ah yes, but he is actually getting them out.

I'd rather a p3d edit that I can actually install on my PC than 5000 promises and screenies of (possibly) non-existant C-130s and battle ships...

And as I understand it, he is getting (or got) Oxygen. The point I am trying to make is that he has a track record of actually getting stuff out there, instead of just talking about it.

Major fubar,

The point you're missing is simple..A p3d edit involves about 5% as much work as putting out a QUALITY completely NEW addon with interior, textured (inside and out), sounds, cpp properlly written etc..

So far I haven't seen a single interior model from Eviscreator or textures..The Aircraft dont even seem to have 3rd person simple cockpit which is essential to make the aircraft look half decent from external view.

I know he means well but the external vehicle model is only about 30% or LESS than what is involved in making a COMPLETE addon.

Enthusiasm should always be appreciated though.

He's not wrong though. By saying that, I'm in no way belittling the efforts of anybody who will actually produce something. If it was just a matter of doing the models, I'd have produced a load of stuff for CFS2. But the model is only part of it. Weapons loadouts, flight characteristics (Or, in the case of smallarms, Cyclic rates and ammuNition performance unique to that weapon), skinning.  I even had a crack at doing a C130 myself, but it will probably never fly in OFP. Why? I could hand the work I've done so far in GMax over to someone with Oxygen, but all that would give would be a beginning, maybe even less. Animations done in GMax (Ailerons, Rudder, Flaps, Propellors and Undercarriage) would probably not export to Oxygen. People who ask for all this shiny new kit don't seem to have an idea what they are asking, most of the time. My hat comes off to anyone that can actually get a project as far as being ready for upload.

i have people doing accurate .cpp's who are finding the correct sounds and i have texturers waiting, this leaves animations and textures to do, is that enough for you?
