Freeze problem

Recommended Posts

I have WINXP, detonator drivers(tried several) for my geforce2mx, via chipset.

I have my agp set to 1x, 2x, 4x, auto but nothing work always the same OFP freezes about 10-15secs into the game and a reboot is the only solution.

I got this problem after i tried to install morrowind but i got a similar problem there so i updatet to directx 8.1, updated my AC97 audio drivers, updated my detonator drivers, upgraded to windows xp but no work and now ofp doesnt work either. I have 4-1 patch applied. What shall i do i feel so fucking angry... pos computer. And to top it off now my internet doesnt work either on my comp i write this on other comp wich is connected to same ADSL modem but it works. In WinXP i get it to aknowledge that it is connected to a lan (ie to adsl modem via network card) but how the heck do i get it to use it as internet connection? I succeded doing it once dunnoe what i did but then i was happy and tried Ofp again it crashed same fucking memory dump screen then reboot and after that internet didnt work.

I feel like killing someone right now and i am very tired and i am a very sad geek i spell like some fucking retard but i dont care right now 4 hours straight infront of pc trying to solve problems fux up ur mind. Please help me if you know anything. I have tried everything suggested in avons faq exept the agp comp drive or whatever cuz it seems to time consuming and risky.. well if you can help me with either of these problems i would be eternally greatfull

It could be a million things but have you tried installing FORCEASPI, downloadable from The FAQ?

The problem is the instability of his agp port, I think.

I ve a VIA motherboard.... and i know why u did lock up (i got a clue in www.VIAarena.com forums).

Well there's a major compatibility issue with internal audio card AC97 u use, and the Geforce MX.

I suggest u to buy a soundcard (personnally i use an Soundblaster128PCI *thought to upgrade to SBive soon*), and go into your BIOS and disable AC97 calls.

Normally the internal soundcard and driver are well in MB, but seems that VIA got problems with them. Good luck
