plz make UAV camera steadier

Recommended Posts

the UAV camera now r giving me a huge headack, the thing dosen't go in circle it keep going zig zag trying to connect next way point, so as a result the camera moving all around the place, flipping all around the place, some time so fast its impossible to keep up with it, i can hardly get a steady aim, forget about steady aim i always got lost didn't even know where i m looking at.

here a good great perfect example of what good UAV camera should be its work almost the same way u point on map it go there, adjust hight n every thing and alot more especially the camera lock function is the most impressive(it get the camera looking at 1 fixed point).

i know it say AC130 but there is a UAV in there they work the same way.

reason why the AC130 script UAV camera its better

1: it automaticly zero in the center point of the flying circle every time when u jump in the UAV (so i don't hav to look all over the place every time, try to figure out where i m looking at every time i jump in a UAV)

2: steady camera (it fly in perfect circle) the real 1 has it

3: it go higher then 999 meter limit (harder to spot harder to take down) the real 1 go lot higher then that

4: its hellfire dosen't need the UAV nose to point at enemy to get a hit (try the offical BAF mission concrete oasis c if u can hit any thing while the UAV is circling above target, or better yet c if u can stay in that thing for more that 10min without vomiting)

5: it has 3rd personal view (so u will know where u r pointing with out vomiting, incase u r lost)

6: u can adjust the radius of the flying circle (bigger flying radius better camera contol)

7: it has a compass around ur aim point (just better) the real 1 has it

8: more information (it has a indicator to tell u r looking up or down, it tell u that u r looking forward or behind the UAV and more) the real 1 has it

9: zero camera magnification as defult zoom level (try use a 107 sight for CQB u will be very very lost)

10: there r more reason i just can't remember now

plz adopt some idea from that script, better yet all of it...

or atleast make the camera steadier, make the hellfire useful...

reason y BIS UAV better then the AC130 script.

1: it got lazer marker (it help guide bomb) AC130 script can't do

2: u can mark a loaction on map (it just extremely useful) AC130 script can't do

3: lot less complitcated control (well if u play arma then u will just know how to control it how to turn on NV or zoom n stuff) AC130 script just more complicated but it has very clear instruction

4: do not require extra DL (smaller PBO) AC130 script dosen't need player to DL too

5: can't think of more now

bottom line PLZ make the camera steadier, make the hellfire useful...

here is how UAV cam looks like some what look similer with the AC130 script cam

I think there are certain limitations on the way the BIS UAV can work because it must work with the player's graphics settings. Although I do agree that it would be great if we had better camera control and locking ability. In the meantime, I wonder if you know that the camera stabilizes if you let go of the mouse...

It supposedly stabilizes but unfortunately does so in a very terrible and near-useless fashion. Just try keep an actual vehicle targeted or something and you'll see...

It seems to depend on the angle as to how far it goes out. I'm not sure if this is because it stabilizes on a certain point in space always at the same distance from the UAV or perhaps it stabilizes at sea level. It's good enough for observing but not good enough for designating a laser target. At any rate, it should have a button to lock it down because it's too difficult to predict where it will finally settle. When it is zoomed in quite a bit, it's nearly impossible to figure out where this thing will end up.

well let the player to find his limit, if u want the UAV to fly higher turn up ur VD, well u don't need 10000vd to c the ground flying at 1500 meter. my poor old pc single 4870 and a 4 years old duo core, handle 4k VD in warfare no problem hell even 10K it still runing very smooth as long as the mission is well design.

yeah i know the offical UAV camera stabilizes it self if you let go of the mouse, clever but it still very very impossible to use.

the only UAV that usable is the AH6xj or sum thing, u know the LB... though it still love crashing in to every thing even u tell it to fly high

1: to whom dosen't remember how painful it is to use the offical UAV plz try the offical mission, it come with BAF its call (concrete oasis), totally BIS design no 3rd party script or any thing might affect the way UAV act. there r more mission u can use UAV from A2 just can't remember their name now.

2: to whom already know how painful the offical UAV is to use go straight and try the AC130 script DL link below, it even inclued a example mission sqs.

The Fix wing UAV(s) in VBS2 has very stable camera and has a human pilot (from the terminal).

Because the waypoint set on the map is square not circle and the UAV have to bank when turning in circles(waypoints), while it should be yaw-ing with it's ruddles instead.

hav try the AC130 script??????? sounds like u haven't yet

it hasn't got a human pilot it still fly in perfect cricle. which means steady cam.

and try the TFOR mp mission, the mission creator sum how give it double the way point 8 instead of 4, but it still isn't very helpful

the script is light is fun just like the cod mission, give it a try.

i m not asking BI to put that into the game, (though it would be great if they do) i just showing them what i ment by steady and hoping them to make the cam steadier, its painful to use now... great feature but pretty half ass don't u think?

All I know is the Ptchella (However its spelt) Loooooves flying into mountain sides :(

The Firescout addon someone made is brilliant! Dont know why BIS used AH6J instead of the firescout tbh...

Yeah this should be fixed!

maybe the camera dome needs to be "chiro-stabalized", like it will not turn when the vehicle does turn.

You need to see more info on screen, like the degrees the camera is turned from the UAV (nose being 0, tail being 180) and the elevation/declination of the camera.

and as stated before, the UAV needs to be yawing towards a waypoint.

The firescout was cool but much to small, that thing is almost as big as a MH6 IRL.
