wolfbite 8 Posted March 17, 2011 I'd say I do a fullspeed 30 degree dive and it should hit pretty much exactly where the crosshairs are pointing....
Haystack15 10 Posted March 17, 2011 I'd say I do a fullspeed 30 degree dive and it should hit pretty much exactly where the crosshairs are pointing.... Thats what i do pretty much but not going full speed that is. Unless I really want to pave the bomb into the ground.
Cobra84 0 Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) You can not target nonvehicle or non active tagets with MK82 in this game, also the main reason for lasing is the precision you can have while staying out of range of AA defense. In OA the A-10 is the only plane to carry GBUs... I only have any trouble hitting moving targets, so the lock on works or me. I can hit a inactive or stationary target with near 100% accuracy the a MK-82. Only A-10C and that's a fairly new plane in service. All A-10As will be upgraded to A-10Cs by the end of this year. OA takes place in 2012, so there will not be any A-10As left. Edited March 20, 2011 by Cobra84
concurssi 11 Posted March 18, 2011 Also, I think the ingame A-10 has the targeting pod.
Daniel 0 Posted March 18, 2011 I do a very similar thing when using the unguided munitions. I will fly over the target, roll onto my planes "back" while looking at the ground to confirm I am over my target then I'll pull back and dive bomb the area.:)Advantages of this are: Only pass over the target once Very easy to hit the target Your egress route is the same as your ingress route thus minimising time spent vulnerable to enemy AA. That's a good method. If you can perfect high angle rather than straight down diving, that's also very satisfying, looks cool from the ground too. BIS should really add a decent CCRP/CCIP to all modern jets, lasering gets too easy after a bit of practice. With dumb bombs there's always the chance you'll mess up (therefore better gameplay). commander1985 10 Posted March 18, 2011 Without reading all the posts here; Dive Bombing 4 the Win :D (Works for me if you dont have a laser target)
cobracmndr 0 Posted March 20, 2011 Has anyone had any issues picking up another player's laser marker? I have done this a few times without any issues in Takistan with OA, however on Chernarus with CO, I have yet to see this working.
pooroldspike 129 Posted March 20, 2011 Has anyone had any issues picking up another player's laser marker?I have done this a few times without any issues in Takistan with OA, however on Chernarus with CO, I have yet to see this working. I know in singleplayer that if you laze a spot that's not in the LOS of the AI-controlled A-10, it won't drop its LGB. For example if you laze the wall of a building, the A-10 won't see the spot on the wall if he's flying somewhere on the far side of the building because he hasn't got x-ray vision. But when he orbits into a position from where he can see the spot on the wall, he'll radio something like "Target 500metres southwest", and after lining up, will drop the bomb on it. So when lazing spots on buildings, I always try to laze the roof rather than the wall, so that it's easier for the A-10 to see, like this- CALLING IN AIRSTRIKES illustrated thread- http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/showthread.php?7486-Calling-in-airstrikes
Ollie1983 10 Posted March 21, 2011 Does anyone know if the laser in the hellcat/lynx can be used to designate targets for apaches or LGBs etc? IF not, what is this for?
Noraf 0 Posted March 21, 2011 the one in the venum can be used for it, i if i recal correctly, we've done a mission were we did use the wildcat for the same purpose
