Rushhour33 10 Posted January 2, 2011 My mic works great in teamspeak and what not. People tell me in game that they can barely hear me and my mic keeps cutting in and out. Any help?
TechnoTerrorist303 10 Posted January 3, 2011 If you're talking about the ingame voip, it's probably set up badly. If your mic is cutting out and quiet then it sounds like the input volume is set too low and the "noisegate" is not allowing the signal through. If you shout into the mic do you cut out? Turn up the gain on your microphone input. Profit.
pipscouse 10 Posted January 16, 2011 I don't know if this applies to you but I recently bought some new headphones (SteelSeries Siberia V2s). Prior to this I was using Medusa 5.1s. The Medusas were wired through the SPEAKER system cables and inputted directly into the jacks at the back of the soundcard (Soundblaster Audigy 2). I could hear Arma fine and speak/hear fine in TS3 etc, but my voice wasn't being picked up in-game (my indicator did light up but no one could hear me). Since I switched to the Siberias VOIP in game now works fine. I think the difference is that the Siberias plug into HEADPHONE jacks which are separate from speaker jacks. Perhaps Arma is configured to pick up mic only via headphone jack. I must add, I found this out completely by accident. Sorry if it is of no help in your case, but I know of others who have posted with a similar problem
pipscouse 10 Posted January 16, 2011 No I take it back. Tried again this morning and it's not working. Sorry about that, but worked yesterday. Bummer
vohk 10 Posted January 16, 2011 Maybe try making sure your mic is the 'default recording device' (right click on the volume icon in the tray on Win7) and disable all other recording devices, if you haven't already. I've had problems with previous games where it defaulted to some random device. Didn't notice at first because TS and such generally let you specify.
