ForeverOmega 10 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) this is basic arma 2 with newest patch, when i use crossfire the frames do not increase but stay the same. i also have this issue with flickering shadows with them being on very high, high, normal and even low. http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k572/Stephanie_Suffron/armashadowbug1.png > 100kb http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k572/Stephanie_Suffron/armashadowbug2.png > 100kb notice the back of the character, also in the foreground how the lighting has changed a little. the shadow only "flickers" if i move the mouse but if i run one certin way it wont Flicker, say if i was looking straight and a shadow was on my back i turn left and when i barely turn it flickers off. my current pc specs are Windows 7 64 bit i5 750 asus p7p55 ws Supercomputer xfx 5870 Crossfire 4 Gig Ram 10,000 RPM Hard Drive using 10.10e hotfix with 10.10 crossfire app, already tied 10.11 things were just as bad also using eyefinity 5090x600 ---------- Post added at 08:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:05 AM ---------- also my fps never goes above 25, with and without crossfire on. vohk 10 Posted December 5, 2010 Crossfire is, unfortunately, not magic. If you're bottlenecked somewhere else, an extra GPU won't help. Considering you have 2x5870s I'm guessing that i7-750 is holding you back, especially if it's running at stock speeds. OA does have a crossfire profile as of 10.8 or 10.9 IRRC, but couldn't hurt to make sure both cards are running. Can't help you with the flickering. I'm using 2x5850s with the 10.10e's and not getting that at all. Maybe try it without eyefinity or using different settings in CCC/ATT to narrow the problem down. Are you using v-sync? ForeverOmega 10 Posted December 5, 2010 i know for a fact my cpu is not causing bottleneck, it is currently running stock speeds and i do plan on overclocking it. but the flickering is only in a few areas all these problems never occured untill the most recent patches. Arthur Hucksake 10 Posted December 6, 2010 I can't even play Arma 2 at all with my 6870s in Crossfire. All of the textures go crappy, low res, flicker and allsorts. Made a lil video of the prob here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh4iUNytgRk Skip halfway in. Does it on other missions too, and I have no idea how to fix it. Disabling crossfire completely, resolves it. Gutted.
Googleo 10 Posted December 6, 2010 Didn't you use the -winxp parameter.
Arthur Hucksake 10 Posted December 6, 2010 I use the -winxp command, makes no difference. 6870 owners just out of luck with this game, no chance of getting AMD/ATI to do anything if it is there end.
