  1. Ok, so here's another thread to carry on with. More descriptive, less ranty. To summarise, here are other threads describing the issue. Crossfire support has also become a problem. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101859 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=112038 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=112030 The low details textures ones is the biggest gripe. Either the textures are flickering between low and high res in various combinations of settings, or they just stay low res from a short viewing distance. For arguments sake, I will download the entire game again and start from scratch. (Steam version)
  2. It has to be the AMD drivers, got to be. They've "optimised" them to gain performance which is having an adverse effect in this game. For e.g in PMC, stand near a stationary truck. From a pretty close distance the detail level just bottoms out.
  3. Same issue. Crossfire is busted even with latest profiles installed.
  4. Same problem here, 6870 Crossfire. Absolutely unplayable in it's current state. Emailed AMD, they say their drivers are fine. **Yeeeah right!** £35 worth of unplayable as it stands. Gutted tbh.

    VRam issue

That only works on the 69xx series of cards. :(

    VRam issue

This is a nasty bug. I own 6870 Crossfire so i'm effectively screwed because the earliest drivers my cards support are the 10.10s. 10.12 the issue remains.

I have the same problem. Still yet to find a solution. Seems like a waste of resources.

Tell me about it. When they work though, they are amazing. Absolutely awesome.

Yeah, i've got that. It's just a case of know what settings to use though, that's the problem.

Please help, tearing my hair out with this prob!

Thanks for that. May need to stick it on High then. No such luck with Very High?

Let me know how you get on, i'm in a similar position. Arma 2 is totally borked for me with Crossfire enabled.

Plz help 6870 crossfire ARMA 2 OA Bad FPS

Try launching the game's .exe directly from the game folder. If there is a profile it should then be picked up. Enable the "Show Crossfire Status Icon" too, to make sure. In all honesty, i've had nothing but hell with Crossfire and Arma 2.

Please help, tearing my hair out with this prob!

It's not that they are blurry. They keep changing from reeeeally low or no res, to normal, flickering back again to low or no res. If they were the same constantly, i'd deal with it. Just cannot allow this game to let me set it to Very High when Crossfire is enabled. Something screwy going on with how the game is recognising the video ram. Arrowhead works great btw.

There is something wrong with the .cfg , seem to have narrowed it down now. I basically shoved an extra 1 at the start of the 3D_Performance figure and issues seemed to go away, not perfect because in the near distance I could see lower res textures but the ground textures were fixed. It only reports having 300MB of video ram too in that damn .cfg file which doesn't help. This game doesn't support the 6870s in Crossfire once you put the textures to High or Very High, the textures go screwy. I reinstalled this entire game over Steam last night, not helped any. Windows install is only a couple of weeks old. Nah, i'm done with this game. Spent more time troubleshooting than playing, £30 down the drain.
