Units stuck in enlarged sidewalk...

Recommended Posts

Hi mates!

I use alot of sidewalks in my map, and a big amount of them are increased in size, to 300%.

Since one of the later patches, 1.55 I think, no units can walk on them anymore without getting stuck,

even though the sidewalks are lowered further into the ground...

I guess there is no solution but to remake all of the sidewalks and use

their standard size.

But I figured I should bring it up here, both asking for help and as info for everyone here.

Cheers!

Hm..

to me it seems BIS has changed something in the walkable objects. For me it was the same with some of the rocks. First they were perfect, then with OA they could kill you and now they are still not really fixed.....

As with all objects in BIS products, anything that gets stretched past the 50m-64m dimension (in any axis) will encounter problems of 1 sort or another.

My oversized aircraft hangers on "Sands" actually seemed to work fine .... but I think I got lucky.

I see, that's too bad, since it's a nice feature to be able to have variations in size of the different objects.

But somethings seem to have change over the last few patches,

because when I started the project (sometime before OA got released) there where no problems...

Wasn't there a problem with walking on dodgy OA rocks that was "fixed" in this patch? - maybe it's something to do with that...?

hi,

to be honest this issue has happened since OFP. Whenever you change the size of certain objects above a certain amount the collision boxes no longer work properly. Im afraid i have no set percentage to give you that works, however im sure i had some rocks working to about 200%. The only way to tell is to try.
