using Radio Alpha, way points and voices

1) I setup a radio alpha to takeoff after it drops me off. and that seems to work. I created a new trigger to setup another Radio Alpha to pick me up and that's the part I can't get to work. It doesn't seem to get displayed in the Radio when I choose M for my map.

2) I setup a way point for the player to follow. and just before the chopper lands at the way point, The way point vanishes for the player.

3) Voices, don't seem to work. I setup a trigger and connect it to a way point. and that should trigger the voice.

any one have some ideas. on both of these.

I know I'm using the demo guys and I know you don't support it. well I will be getting the full version in about a week. This is just to get me started.

1) When you create radio Alpha and activate it, it won't go away unless you actually delete it (by name). Only then can you create another radio Alpha, and also you have to do it using scripts. Considering your apparent knowledge level, I'd say go with radio Alpha and Bravo for now, instead of trying too much with things that are just a tad bit tricky.

2) Too little information. How did you set it up?

3) What do you mean voices? Seeing you are on the demo, something tells me you might be missing a bunch of content that might be relevant. It may be the case that the actual sound files are not included in the demo to make it smaller, but that their config entries still exists. You'll find out in about a week :p

2) I setup a AI for the player. and I attached the player to a way point.

when he's in the chopper. Just before the chopper lands. the way point vanishes. So the player doesn't know where to go.

Well in the Demo. Under advance, where you can setup music and crap like that. There's one that says voices. Where I can get the player and teams to speak. There is a list in there. I just haven't been able to get any of the voices to work.

Like when I click the button to duskoff from the radio the chopper says Taking off or what ever is available.

I have some questions to add to this.

4) Is there a way to change the color of way points. They all seem to be the same color and I'm getting them mixed up and can't tell one from the other.

5) I setup a hummer with a team and I tried to get it to follow a way point. Well what causes the hummer to pause at every way point. It seems to start and stop a lot and the helicopters don't do that.

6) Way points. Is there a limit on how long the way points can be for each unit.

I can't seem to make way points longer then 11 points.

7)

How do I assign way points to a AI bots after landing. The other way I had it setup was before and the way point vanish.

8) How do I get AI bots on 2nd floors or on Roof tops.

2) Sorry, can't figure out what you mean. 3D WP? Map WP? A mission file would help.

3) I don't recall ever having used voices like that, but I expect them to work in the full version. Too lazy to test right now.

4) No.

5) It needs to calculate the route to the next wp (pathfinding). Choppers being in the air has less calculations obviously :)

6) Don't think there exist a limit. Not that low anyway. Could be special to demo, hard to tell. But I sometimes use far more waypoints than that, although I tend to try to avoid waypointing.

7) GetOut followed by Move or whatever. GetOut should be synchronized with the choppers TransportUnload waypoint. I think. Long time since I've done things this way.

8) By scripting it.

Checked the stickies? Calling it crap is not a good idea if you're looking for help.

I have the player AI in a chopper when the game starts. I all so have a way point connected to the player. when he's in the chopper.

When the chopper gets close to the landing area.. and the player gets close to the 1st way point. The way point vanish. They are gone.

3) ?, that makes no since. Have you played the stick mission yet. Well when you play the stock missions. You will here the player or team mates talking to each other.

4) That sucks. How do you keep tract of the way points then, LOL.

5). Ok, well is there a way to fix that. It sucks that it takes the hummer so long to get to the end of the way point, and that's where it needs to be.

6) Ok, I'll have to wait until I get the full version then. and I'll see.

7) Ok, can you tell me where I can get some mission samples at.

8) Ok, do you know where I can get good samples for scripting at. I look at the code and well it won't be all that easy for me.
