Grey Fox 0 Posted May 7, 2002 Although here in the U.S. it is being replaced with the MOdular Lightweight Loa-carrying Equipment or MOLLE system. It starts with the LBV-88 load bearing vest which replaces the old LC-2 harness. From there it will have a 2,300 cubic inch main packand frame which can have a small combat patrol pack attached with a variety of spots for magazines grenades food and water. Edit: denoir posted before me while I was at the posting screen away from my comp taking a piss

I have the complete series of your manuals at home from this series: You should ask me something about subs and UD, that I really know something about
USSoldier11B 0 Posted May 7, 2002 I think it is really foolish of our military to make most of our field and technical manuals unclassified. Why the hell would you wan't everyone else to know exactly what you teach your soldiers by the numbers?

Why the hell would you wan't everyone else to know exactly what you teach your soldiers by the numbers?<span id='postcolor'> Because it really doesn't matter. The basic low level tactics make no differenece. You bomb the hell out of everybody anyway The hightech stuff Planes, Boats, Subs are classified. Internet is another interesting phenomenon today. It is the sweetest dream and the worst nightmare of intelligence communities. Information has never been so easy to get and conceal, but that works both ways. If it makes you feel better, I also have a even more complete set of Russian manuals
USSoldier11B 0 Posted May 7, 2002 Yeah, I can see that. I can't divulge what info we have on foriegn equipment in my unit. It is highly detailed though. Even Jane's has pretty good info on any type of weaponry anywhere.

The really interesting stuff (perhaps not in an OFP context) you can't talk about because then you go to jail for treason The stuff that Jane's or FAS has is not serious. But then again, twenty years ago it would have been. I suppose that with the fact that Russia today with its economy can't afford to keep up with the NATO development means a lot too. It doesn't matter if they know how a Stealth bomber is built, if they can't afford to build anything to stop it.
